“Diamond Jim” Crownhart was one of drag racing’s great die-hard match racers. We lost Jim to cancer this past week. Jim represented so many lower funded pro and semi pro drag racers throughout the sport’s history. He plugged away at it week after week, entertaining fans and slowly racking up a legacy. With solid efforts in alcohol funny cars and later in jet funny cars, Jim Crownhart leaves behind many friends and happy fans. Farewell, Diamond Jim.
