2017 EMMR Spring Open House Slated for April 1




YORK SPRINGS, PA – The Saturday April 1st drag racing program at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing will feature a free Collector Car Fraud Seminar by Attorney Bruce Shaw at 10 a.m. followed by dedication of new display space for two icons among the drag racing world. Charlie Seabrook and “Pee Wee” Wallace.

The Seabrook family from New Jersey has donated Charlie Seabrook’s “Jersey Jimmy” roadster to EMMR, Seabrook was a pioneer in the sport of drag racing and set many records with his unique Aston Martin powered​ street roadster. His dedication will be accompanied by display space for “Pee Wee” Wallace who was an outstanding​ driver in the NHRA funny car class with his entries the “Virginian,” the “Alabamian,” and the “Black Stang” throughout​
the years. The Seabrook family and the Wallace family will share honors of their family patriarchs during the dedications.

On the distaff side of drag racing will be Patti Young, formerly of York and now living in Lebanon will join the festivities to receive accolades and an award for her contributions to drag racing while a regular competitor at York US30 Dragway,​ fielding cars out of Shaull Oldsmobile and Beasley Ford in York.

The Open House debuts the new display of drag racing vehicles for 2017 which will include nationally renowned Willys gas coupes of “Big John” Mazmanian and Joe Pirrone, Jr., the Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins Monza Pro Stock, Richard Crites’​ altered coupe, Dave Strickler’s A/FX Dodge, the English Brothers C/A Ghia, Lowell Lister’s sidewinder dragster, and​ ​Jerry Baltes’ top fuel dragster.

Activities get underway at 10 a.m. with a full slate of events, breaking for lunch, and a memorabilia auction and a round table on York US30 Heritage Days will conclude the program.
