July Brings Second Edition York US 30 Heritage Days & 16th Annual York Reunion




York Springs, PA – The Second Edition of York US 30 Heritage Days and the 16th Annual York Reunion will be presented at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing and the historic Latimore Valley Fairgrounds on July 7th and 8th.

Arnie “The Farmer” Beswick a drag racing legend and icon will be featured with his “Tameless Tiger” Pontiac. Arnie will be available both days for photo ops and autographs along with a host of other drag racing notables from the past and present. Al Joniec famous for his “Batman” race cars will be presenting an engine seminar on Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon. Friday is Dave Strickler Day a salute to another legend whose famous “Old Reliable” Chevrolets became household names. The Ford Fairlane Club will have their awesome Ford display in the fairgrounds on Friday all day. The Annual Legion of Honor Awards will be presented to nine deserving recipients at 5 p.m. Each recipient receives an individual award and their name is placed upon a perpetual award on display in the museum in perpetuity.

Saturday is Ed Miller and George Cureton Day with a salute to the 50th Anniversary of their NHRA World Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Special race car displays will accompany both World Champs on a day to remember. It happens one time!

The new addition at the museum will feature the Frantic Ford funny car and the Grumpy’s Toy IV Camaro of Bill Jenkins along with a host of vendors with drag racing memorabilia from the past. “Ohio George” Montgomery will be on hand to compliment the new Willys gasser display in the museum.

A flea market features vendors with a host of interesting automotive items both days, in the fairgrounds. Saturday also features a Glory Days Cruise-In and Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Awards will be presented including a giant Best of Show award.

A sensory experience is presented both days with legendary race cars starting-up and providing the familiar music to a drag racers’ ears.

Admission is $10.00 per day or a special two-day ticket for $15.00. The event financially supports The Eastern Museum of Motor Racing.

Activities continue on Sunday with the 14th Annual York Nostalgia Nationals at Beaver Springs Dragway, Beaver Springs, Pennsylvania. See many of the legendary race cars competing in this special event that occurs but one time each year.
