ICONIC HOLLYWOOD & HIGHLAND TO HOST NHRA MELLO YELLO DRAG RACING SERIES AWARDS CEREMONY IN 2017

GLENDORA, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2017) – Officials of NHRA, the world’s largest motorsports sanctioning organization, have announced that the 2017 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Awards Ceremony will once again return to Hollywood’s Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland on Monday, Nov. 13.

The invitation-only black-tie affair, where NHRA will honor its 2017 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series world champions in all four categories, will begin with a pre-event cocktail reception at 5 p.m. A formal sit-down dinner will follow with cuisine provided by renowned Wolfgang Puck Catering. The official after party at the nearby Hard Rock Café will end the evening’s festivities.

NHRA also announced that the entire NHRA Mello Yello Awards Ceremony will be available for viewing via nhra.com/mydrs-awards on Friday, Nov. 17. It marks the ninth year that the full event will be available to fans via the internet.

Champions in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series will be honored earlier in the day at OHM Nightclub, located on the fourth level of the Hollywood & Highland Center, before joining the activities at the Mello Yello Awards Ceremony where they will also be recognized.

The iconic destination, Hollywood & Highland, is a one-of-a-kind high profile venue that combines the best in retail, fine dining and unique entertainment venues with the vibrant world of Hollywood. The center includes more than 70 shops, restaurants and nightlife venues, nine of L.A.’s finest restaurants and Lucky Strike Lanes, a high tech and trendy bowling alley. The Ray Dolby Ballroom, located on the fifth level of the center, is operated by famous chef and restaurateur, Wolfgang Puck. The popular venue draws A-list events, parties and conventions. Most notably, it is the site of the exclusive Governor’s Ball, following the Academy Awards ceremonies each year.

Hard Rock Café, also located at the Hollywood & Highland Center just beside the Dolby Theater, will play host to the official after party. Just steps away from the TLC Chinese Theater and on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, the Hard Rock Café offers high-energy entertainment and a world-class menu. The 20,000-square-foot cafe includes spacious seating, a live music area, a bar, and two retail stores.

The Loews Hotel & Resort will once again be the host hotel for the NHRA Mello Yello Awards Ceremony. Featuring 628 rooms, including luxury suites, the venue is located right in the heart of one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Los Angeles area.
