On January 12 at the Quit Motorplex, Chuck Haynes brought over his new Volcano jet dragster along with his old Gravity Storm car. After a promotional fireball at the airport, Chuck was ready for some real racing, and he didn't disappoint. Despite a first round red light, a 5.20 @ 304 mph stunned the 8,000-person crowd. This was the fastest speed ever recorded outside of the USA (except for the rocket dragsters of old). That is the run shown in the movie. Later in the night, Chuck returned to run a 5.16 @ 302. He then returned for the grand finale, an awesome 5.12 personal best at a massive 307 mph to set a track record that is unlikely to be topped until he next returns!
