What's New at The Drag Racing List

April 30, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: MIR Pro Challenge 2001 - Day Two Eliminations. I did the words and brother Tim Pratt did lots of photos. This race was a fun kickoff for the 2001 MIR Match Racing season.

April 29, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: MIR Pro Challenge 2001 - Day One Qualifying and Notes. This one was on ME. I announced the race with old friend Lewis Bloom. Look for today's eliminations results (and some photos by Tim Pratt) in tomorrow's story of the day.

April 28, 2001 - Story of the Day and Picture of the Day delayed. Hi everyone. Denise was in a car accident this morning, so our story and picture of the day are a little late. Let's call them the story and picture of the AFTERNOON! Denise is OK, thankfully, but now we have to begin that happy little dance with the insurance companies as we try to replace our minivan!

I'm off to Maryland International Raceway for the first big race of the season, the Pro Challenge. Should be lots of Pro Mods, Jet Cars, and other surprises. I'll try to have a story done for tomorrow... See ya. Bill Pratt

April 25, 2001 -- Drag Racing Story of the Day: Fine Vintage Drag Racing in the Wine Country -- Goodguys Hosts the 13th Nitro Nationals. Goodguys supplies complete stats from their premiere race of the season.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: The Groundshakers Fuel Dragster. Tom West provides a beautiful photo of the team whose name derived just as much from the size of the owner and crew as it did from their on track performance!

April 13-21, 2001 -- Draglist on Vacation! We shut down the Draglist offices for seven days in April while we enjoyed a great vacation back home in Ohio. We pre-loaded our Stories of the Day, Pictures of the Day, and Movies of the Week from 4/13 through 4/21. Hope you enjoyed them! We are back now and everything will happen on a same-day basis!

IT'S OUR 5TH ANNIVERSARY! The Drag Racing List went on the Internet on April 10, 1996. From a simple one page advertisement for our printed booklet and videos, to our current 1,100+ pages, it's been a fantastic ride and we look forward to more fun in the future. April 10, 2001 -- Draglist Stages Unreal Comeback. I have to brag about this a little bit. You all remember our hacker problems in early March that basically had us dead in the water and unreachable for ten whole days? Despite that, we got more hits in March than we ever have -- over 118 thousand! This totally, completely blows my mind! We got more hits in 20 days than we did in 31 days in January, our previous best month ever! April should be even more amazing. Thank you, thank you, a million times, thank you! It means so much to us that folks are up here reading and enjoying The Drag Racing List.

I spoke with author Roger Richards on THURSDAY and the story was up by SUNDAY. WOW! That's a benchmark I would like to achieve one day with our drag racing stats. April 5, 2001 -- Drag Racing Story of the Day: The Return of Drag News... On CD-ROM! Dennis Holding of the Frantic Four has had every issue of Drag News from 1955 to 1966 copied to CD ROM and it is now available. A new CD ROM with 1967 to 1971 is underway.
