July 30, 2001 - New Drag Cartoons by Pete Millar! It's been way too long since our last installment of Millarkey, our treasured collection of Pete Millar cartoons. Pete sent us both the cover of his Drag Cartoons Issue 52 and a six-page classic called The Devil and Daniel Webster, with John Force playing the part of Daniel. Check out Millarkey and get ready to roar! By the way, while we were creating the new Millarkey pages, we took an extra hour to refurbish all the Pete Millar cartoons. They are all worth reading again!

(2) - Romine, Janis, Turner, Rector, and Wilson Lead First Day Qualifying at IHRA Northern Nationals. Larry Sullivan fills us in on all the fast runners from day one at Stanton, Michigan.

WJ and Force keep on winning, Dixon creeps up on Bernstein, and Angelle becomes the sport's winningest female. Jay Payne and Shelly Howard won the Federal Mogul categories.

Draglist.com Seeks Motorcycle Editor. We have long overlooked some of the baddest and bravest racers at the drags - the motorcycle racers. My problem is that I don't know the first thing about them and I simply do not have the time to climb the steep learning curve to get rolling. SO... I am looking for any bike fans or racers out there who want to take on the task of being our BIKE EDITORS. If I can get someone to compile the information, I will begin to list Top Fuel bikes, Fuel Harleys, Funny Bikes, Pro Mod bikes, Pro Stock bikes, etc., at draglist.com. July 21, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: (1) Pro Nitro Race to Feature Unique Format. Jerry Hutchcroft reports that the Pro Nitro tour hits Bakersfield next weekend and offers some cool features for racers and fans.

I am working on a software bug where the game won't let you race your own car. New Drag Racing Lists! We updated all our drag racing lists this weekend. Thanks to Danny White, Steve Klemetti, and hundreds of individual racers who sent in updates. All stats through NHRA Columbus and IHRA Cordova are included. Of course, stats from dozens of match races are included as well. If we didn't get your update into this latest collection, we'll get you soon! We are working on converting the Drag Lists to an online database which will allow DAILY updates. July 1, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Wall Street Journal Goes to Bat for Organized Drag Racing; NHRA Offers Official Statement on Illegal Street Racing. Kimberley A. Strassel of the WSJ did a great op-ed piece with a reasoned approach to drag racing that certainly is refreshing to see in the straight press. NHRA president Tom Compton also came out with an official statement on illegal street racing this week. Both pieces are included.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Inside the Jet Funny Car... What the Driver Sees. Sharkman climbed into Roger Goring's jet funny car and provided this terrific driver's-eye view.

Drag Racing Movie of the Week: Shane Elcoate's Thunder Road '41 Willys Explodes a Supercharger. Carl Witt was on hand at last year's Aussie Winternationals when the striking Thunder Road '41 Willys got into some trouble on a qualifying pass.
