July 29, 2002 - Funny Car Reunion: We're Back! Brother Tim, Flyin' Phil, and I are back from the inaugural Funny Car Reunion at Englishtown. Man, did we have fun!

Drag Racing Story of the Day: Millican Wins Seventh Consecutive IHRA Race. IHRA Communications and Summit FastNews provide final pro results from Martin, Michigan. Shannon Jenkins, Doug Vancil, Dale Brand, and John Montecalvo joined Clay Millican as the event winners in their respective categories.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Remembering Dodger Glenn, Funny Car Star. "Berserko" Bob Doerrer and Dave Milcarek team up to remember Dodger. Freddy Frey and Jim Fox put up $500 at the Funny Car Reunion for Low ET and Top Speed in Dodger's honor.

July 28, 2002 - Why I'll be cranky at the Funny Car Reunion: What a week! It's pushing 3:30am on Friday night and I'm gonna get up to go to the Funny Car Reunion at 5:00. That should add up to about eight hours of sleep for the WEEK so far. Last night, Denise and I went to see Lucinda Williams  and we got to bed at 3am. Then, we went in and worked all day, then picked up Flyin' Phil at National, then stayed up for HOURS editing David Hapgood's excellent profile of Gary Omlin, then set up stories and photos of the day for two days while we're at the reunion... I'll be the guy up there sleepwalking. And if you're driving on 95 north tomorrow, don't worry. He doesn't know it yet, but brother Tim is gonna be driving while I snooze... <g> Hope to see you up at Englishtown! bp

The whole family was bursting with pride as eight year old Emily listened closely, then applied what Tom Putnam and dad told her to improve on each of her first ever runs in a Junior Dragster.
