November 30, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: The "Hemi Hunter" Story -- Chapter Six: "Champs and Touring Pros." Hemi Hunter Week continues as the guys go down to the wire for the 1971 Division One Championship, then become touring pros in 1972 with one of the last front engine fuelers in the sport.

Hemi Hunter Week continues at draglist.com as the guys take on new crewmembers for 1971, rebuild everything, and head off to Englishtown for their first big showdown with all the tough Chryslers in NHRA Division One.

He puts forth the argument that we need to revisit the idea of having the final race of the season determine the World Champion.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Bob Hall's "Paddy Wagon" Wheelstanding Vega Panel Wagon. James Morgan got this 1979 shot of Bob Hall's venerable wheelstander, a car that has been campaigned in essentially the same configuration for nearly 30 years.

November 14, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Barefoot Girls and More at the 2001 USA-1 Dragfest. Bill Ott describes the day at Bruce Larson's Stoney Creek Barn and leaves no thought unturned.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: A/FX Dodge " Sportsmanship" at the USA-1 Dragfest. Chucky Jolliff flew all the way from Missouri to attend the USA-1 Dragfest, only to see this example of questionable sportsmanship between the drivers of the special A/FX "match race."

November 13, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Bruce Larson's Drag Fest 2001 -- A First Timer's Experience. Ted Pappacena made his first trek to Bruce Larson's place for the annual USA-1 Dragfest Saturday. Here are his impressions.

November 12, 2001 - The 4th Annual USA-1 Dragfest was a blast! On Saturday, November 10, more than 200 East Coast drag fans (and some from as far away as Missouri and South Africa(!)) enjoyed an incredible day of bench racing, photo browsing, movie and slide watching, and door prize winning at Bruce Larson's 4th Annual USA-1 Nostalgia Dragfest. The Honker and the Charlie Allen Dodge A/FX cars were on hand for a special photo shoot, as was Brian Kohlman's Belle Dodge machine. Click HERE to see the event flyer one more time. Drag Racing Story of the Day: Bernstein, Worsham, Allen, Savoie and Coughlin Earn Event Wins at Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals; Bernstein, WJ, Savoie Clinch World Championships. NHRA Communications provides all the final event results and points standings for the World Finals and the 2001 drag racing season. Congrats to KB, Force, WJ, Angelle, and Bob Panella, Jr., for their outstanding efforts in 2001. Congrats also to NHRA for an outstanding racing season, one full of close contests and amazing performances.

NHRA Communications provides Bud Shootout results, final qualifying results, and first round pairings from the World Finals in Pomona.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Brandon Holcomb's STRANGE Supercharged Altered. These blown altereds all starting to look alike? Chris Graves shows that at least one of them is definitely going its own way in terms of appearance.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: St. Louis Blues -- Jim Epler's Exploding Funny Car Fireball. Brian Wood got this awesome shot of Jim Epler's thermonuclear explosion at NHRA St. Louis this year. Thankfully, Jim was unhurt.

November 09, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: (1) Bernstein, Densham Among Qualifying Leaders at Automobile Club Of Southern California NHRA Finals. NHRA Communications provides early qualifying from Pomona.

(2) Don Garlits and John Force Speak at Breakfast of Champions. NHRA Communications was there yesterday as Big Daddy and Force talked about being voted the two NHRA top drag racers of all time.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Nothin' But the Blues -- Blown Monte Carlo vs. Altered. Valerie Young got this great top end chute shot of two Canadian Pro Comp (Quick 32) machines. Brian Wood contributes some entertaining commentary on the shot.

November 08, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Bakersfield Fuel and Gas Finals: Fuller & Dunlap Break Through, McDaniel Brings Home 2nd Consecutive Goodguys Top Fuel Crown. John Drummond provides all the final results from the Goodguys Finals at Bakersfield.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Funny Flamed Fifty-Seven -- Jim Carter's Nostalgia Eliminator FC. Andy "Tog" Rogers traveled from Britain to Las Vegas for the Goodguys Fall Classic and got dozens of outstanding photos, including this great shot of Jim Carter's '57 Chevy flopper.

November 06, 2001 - Computer Blues at Draglist.com... Sorry we were late on getting updated stories and photos for Sunday and Monday. Our primary computer went down hard and took lots of info with it. I was able to get all the good info off the hard drive, but as I write this I am completely wiping out the system and rebuilding it from scratch. Looks like it will be a day or so before we are back on the satellite. Tonight we are using the good old machine we've had since '95 and the good old 26K modem. It chugs along, but it's getting the job done. Brings to mind something about a tortoise and a hare...

Drag Racing Story of the Day: Top Fuel Dragsters Take the Spotlight in Pomona. NHRA Communications reports that Larry Dixon has the slimmest of chances to overtake Kenny Bernstein, while the top eight fuelers in the country will battle for Budweiser shootout bucks.
