Racing Need a Super Bowl? Perry Wyatt, Jr., has been hanging
out at the drags since his dad drove a nitro funny car. He puts forth the
argument that we need to revisit the idea of having the final race of the
season determine the World Champion.
Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Ed
McCulloch and Don Prudhomme at the 1974 Summernationals. Peter
Kumble shot two guys who probably never imagined in their wildest dreams
that they would team up on a Top Fuel car 27 years later.

James Morgan got this 1979 shot of Bob Hall's venerable wheelstander,
a car that has been campaigned in essentially the same configuration for

and More at the 2001 USA-1 Dragfest. Bill Ott describes the
day at Bruce Larson's Stoney Creek Barn and leaves no thought unturned.

Dodge " Sportsmanship" at the USA-1 Dragfest. Chucky
Jolliff flew all the way from Missouri to attend the USA-1 Dragfest,
only to see this example of questionable sportsmanship between the drivers
of the special A/FX "match race."

Drag Fest 2001 -- A First Timer's Experience. Ted Pappacena
made his first trek to Bruce Larson's place for the annual USA-1 Dragfest
Saturday. Here are his impressions.

November 12, 2001 - The 4th Annual USA-1 Dragfest
was a blast! On Saturday, November 10, more than 200 East Coast drag fans (and some from as far away
as Missouri and South Africa(!)) enjoyed an incredible day of bench racing,
photo browsing, movie and slide watching, and door prize winning at Bruce
Larson's 4th Annual USA-1 Nostalgia Dragfest. The Honker and the Charlie
Allen Dodge A/FX cars were on hand for a special photo shoot, as was Brian Kohlman's
Belle Dodge machine. Click HERE

Drag Racing Story of the
Day: Bernstein,
Worsham, Allen, Savoie and Coughlin Earn Event Wins at Automobile Club of
Southern California NHRA Finals; Bernstein, WJ, Savoie Clinch World
Championships. NHRA Communications provides all the final
event results and points standings for the World Finals and the 2001 drag
racing season. Congrats to KB, Force, WJ, Angelle, and Bob Panella, Jr., for
their outstanding efforts in 2001. Congrats also to NHRA for an outstanding
racing season, one full of close contests and amazing performances.

November 06, 2001 - Computer Blues at
Draglist.com... Sorry we
were late on getting updated stories and
photos for Sunday and Monday. Our primary computer went down hard and took
lots of info with it. I was able to get all the good info off the hard
drive, but as I write this I am completely wiping out the system and
rebuilding it from scratch. Looks like it will be a day or so before we are
back on the satellite. Tonight we are using the good old machine we've had
since '95 and the good old 26K modem. It chugs along, but it's getting the
job done. Brings to mind something about a tortoise and a hare...
