The Groundshakers Fuel Dragster

Groundshakers meant two different things with this Top Fuel team. Photo by Tom West

Although the Groundshakers dragster ran hard, the name actually came from the weight of each member of the team (300 lbs. plus). Owner Bill Demarest and group made a fairly impressive presentation. Driver was Gary Read. This shot was from a race at Irwindale, I would guess to be around 1969.
