The attached pic is a previously un-published shot of my Wheeler Dealer, showing Al Friedman on a qualifying pass at the '67 Bristol Springnationals.

If you look closely, you will see a movie camera on top of the roll cage. That was put there by ABC's Wide World of Sports crew, in hopes of getting some usable footage. As it turned out, the result was nearly a total blur... Sorry, no photog credit with this photo.

(For what it's worth, Friedman qualified 16th in a 16-car show that weekend, bumping a very unhappy Danny Ongais who ran a nearly identical 7.31. Friedman later got beat by an oil slick in round one, against Connie.)
