During the late summer of '99, Force lost in the first round repeatedly. Tired of that scenario, he tested a new combo late Sunday at the Keystones after NHRA officials reluctantly relented. Timing equipment was sucked into the massive Coil blower system during the run and enough down force was created that the Winston lane sunk 3 inches. Rumor control reported the pass was 4.090 seconds @ 383.69 mph with roughly 142,781 lbs of down force -- give or take 3.87 ounces.
