Here's Sweden's Micke Kagered in Top Fuel Dragster qualifying at the FIA European Finals, September 2001. Micke, who has had a long and distinguished career in Top Methanol Funny Car, took on dual roles driving both the Top Fueler and the TMFC in 2001. He won the 2001 Swedish Top Fuel Tour Championship and became the fifth TF racer in Europe to run a four-second pass. Both of these accomplishments took place in his rookie year in the class. At the 2001 FIA European Finals, Micke set a new European Top Methanol FC record of 5.799 seconds. This happened an hour or so after an engine explosion shredded both rear slicks of the Top Fueler, rendering him a passenger in a spinning chassis.
