Notes: Mike qualified #6 at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 7.11/194.09. In the opening round, his 7.13/193.29 defeated George Marnell's 7.24/190. In the second round, his 7.16/192.43 lost to Kurt Johnson's 7.15/193. He qualified #7 at the NHRA Arizona Nationals with a 7.15/192.30. Thomas was late off the line in the first round, and his 7.19/191.89 fell to Gary Brown's 7.22/191. His next stop was at Houston for the NHRA Slick 50 Nationals. Unfortunately, he failed to qualify. Shortly after that, he was at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals, where his 7.13/193.25 qualified #7. Another 7.13 at 192.59 beat Billy Ewing's 7.20/192 in the first round. But he slowed to 7.18/192.06 in the second round and lost to Scott Geoffrion's 7.10/195. He then went to Rockingham in April for the NHRA Invitational race. He ended up as the first alternate for the sixteen-car field with a 7.16/193.88. Atlanta was the next stop on the NHRA Calendar, and Mike qualified #15 at 7.17/193.05. He faced Geoffrion in round one and fouled away a 7.23/193. He had to to the chance as Geoffrion advanced with a 7.05/196 and went on to win. These Pro Stock races were challenging to qualify at, and at Memphis, he just made the field, running 7.24/191.16 for the "bump" at the NHRA Mid-South Nationals. In the first round, he faced low qualifier Darrell Alderman, and Mike's Cutlass broke, giving Darrell a solo into round two. Rick Howard photo from 1994 NHRA Oldsmobile Springnats, Columbus. Notes: The Reher-Morrison was at Houston for the NHRA Slick 50 Nationals. Allen qualified #13 with a 7.145/193.59 and had the only Chevrolet in the field. Unfortunately, he lost to Kurt Johnson in the opening round, 7.17/192 to 7.207/192.55. Bruce's only other NHRA national event was the Western Auto Nats in June, where he was a disappointing mid-pack DNQ at 7.366/188.48. Was the team's lack of participation on the circuit because of a crash? |

Notes: Rick Howard photo from the 1994 NHRA Oldsmobile Springnats, Columbus, Ohio (DNQ, first alternate with best of 7.32/189.75). | Eckman failed to qualify at Pomona for the season-opening NHRA Winternationals. His best of 7.25/190.63 was good for the eighth alternate. At the NHRA Quality Care Nationals in Arizona, Jerry ran 7.19/191.08 to qualify #12. He lost to Mark Pawuk in the first round. He just got in on the "bump" at Houston for the NHRA Slick 50 Nationals with a 7.15/192.71. Unfortunately, he lost to Scott Geoffrion in the first round. Eckman was the first alternate at the NHRA Gatornationals with a 7.20/192.30 best. Things didn't go much better at Rockingham for the NHRA Winston Invitational, where a best of 7.18/193.29 was good for the fourth alternate. Things went better at Atlanta for the NHRA Southern Nationals where Jerry qualified #10 with a 7.16/193.13. However, a 7.18/192.47 in the first round, wasn't enough to get around Larry Morgan's 7.16/194. The next NHRA race was the Mid-South Nationals at Memphis. Jerry ran 7.23/191.28 to qualify #14, but a 7.27/190.67 in the first round, lost to Geoffrion's 7.12/194. |

Notes: Midwest Pro Stock Association and NHRA racer. Peternel was at Atlanta Dragway in April for the NHRA Southern Nationals. He failed to qualify with a 7.65/182.37 best. Larry attempted to qualify at Brainerd for the NHRA Northstar Nationals, but he was the tenth alternate with a 7.48/185.75 best. Shortly after that, he went to Indy for the NHRA US Nationals, where his 7.422/187.42 was the twenty-ninth alternate. Larry dropped another tenth at NHRA Ennis to run his best times of the year at 7.326/188.91. |
