Notes: Leroy faced off against Willie Borsch in a best of three match race at Irwindale on July 23. In the first race Chadderton fouled away an 8.42/191.88 while Borsch blew his supercharger and injectors off while winning with an 8.87/132.35. Willie was unable to fix his car so Leroy came back out and ran an 8.35/193.54 solo. In the third race, Leon Fitzgerald brought his "Pure Heaven" to fill in. Notes: The Campos brothers were racing roadsters for years. The '69 version used a 96" wheelbase chassis built by Jack Eskelson. It was light, weighing only 1,550 lbs. The engine was a 354 Hemi that used a Delta crank, M/T rods and pistons, and an Engle cam. Mondello supplied the heads. A Hilborn injection unit sat on a Don Hampton-built blower. HP was claimed to be 1,400. Tom was at Lions on December 6 for an eight-car show. He made it into the final by beating Lee LeBaron in the first round, with a 7.82/174.41 and a semifinal 8.11/162.74 beat Frank Harris. But in the final, his 8.15/162.16 lost to Bob Hankins' 7.67/190 in the "Blue Blazer." The following day was not a good day for Ferraro. He was at Irwindale for a sixteen-car show, where he qualified #11 with an 8.11. In the first round, he faced Leroy Chadderton. Leroy got out of shape, crossed into Tom's lane, and hit the guardrail slightly. While this was going on, Ferraro's engine burst into flames. He got the car stopped but received third-degree burns to 60% of his body. |

Notes: Leroy was at Cecil County on June 15 for a four-car show. In his first race, he ran 7.87/196.50 to beat Leon Fitzgerald's 8.18/187.72. Unfortunately, he blew the engine in his second race while running Willie Borsch. On August 10, he was at Maple Grove for a match race against Borsch. The race was one and done when in their first encounter, Chadderton got sys and was headed straight for "Wild Willie." Leroy overcorrected, and the car rolled on its side and bounced down the track for about a hundred feet. Notes: Photo from 1968. Chadderton ran at an eight-car show at OCIR on February 16. He qualified #2 with a 7.89 with a track record speed of 204.08. Unfortunately, in the first round, his blower exploded in the lights after running 7.90/190.26 over Willie Borsch. He was unable to return for the semifinals. On November 22, Leroy was at OCIR for an eight-car show. He ran a first-round 7.81/171 to beat Stan Lucas, and in the semifinals, he improved to a 7.75/189 over Sush Matsubara's 8.02/177. In the final, he faced Dave Hough, and in a close race, Chadderton's 7.78/193.13 beat Hough's 7.82/204. |

Notes: Leon was at OCIR on May 18 for a Funny Car vs. Fuel Altered race. All cars ran three rounds. In his first race, he fouled away a 7.87/196.92 and broke in the second. He got out of shape on his third run and shut off to a 9.32/117.49 loss to Frank Pisano's 8.29/171. Leon was at Irwindale on August 17 for three rounds of racing between FC's and the Fuel Altereds. Fitzgerald's 8.11/184.42 beat Dave Beebe's 8.21/186 in Nelson Carter's car in the opening round. In his second race, he improved to 8.00/188.28, but it wasn't enough to beat Dee Keaton's quick leaving 8.06/180.
