Notes: 1750 lbs. Shotgun motor. Crowerglide Direct Drive. Car was debuted at the AHRA Winternationals and ran 7.57-193.12 to qualify fifth. In first round Arnie was matched up against Danny Ongais and the Maverick had problems getting down the track. At the NHRA Winternationals, another 7.57 qualified the car forth. The car ran 203 at Pomona, but still lost in first round to Larry Arnold. Car was totaled soon after. Magazines of the day had different times for the car. Super Stock had it running a 7.34 while one magazine claimed 7.11-209.

Notes: "Fast Eddie" Schartman was one of the racers chosen to receive one of the Logghe-built Comet Cyclones from Ford Motor Company. Schartman had worked his way up the racing ranks before getting into funny car racing. In 1966, he was one of the top funny car racers with the advanced machines. In 1967, he was already on his third paint job when he received the Air Lift sponsorship. The Air Lift Rattler featured the updated Logghe chassis and kept on winning. With Amos Satterlee tuning, Schartman won the Manufacturer's Funny Car Championship at Orange County with runs of 8.17-184.08, 7.85-185.18 (Low ET), and 7.87-185.56. -- BS | 427 SOHC, C-6 auto combo. | Ran 8.65-164 at AHRA Winters on January 29. - Ron Howard

Notes: Rick Howard photo from 1996 U.S. Nats, Indy. Force put on a virtuoso performance at Indy in winning a record-tying 11th event of the season, a 59th career win and a record sixth Winston Funny Car title. And if that wasn't enough, he also won his 4th Big Bud Shootout. Force qualified 1st (4.966 Low ET of Meet and Track Record).
