Notes: Invented the lovely "cowcatcher" nosepiece to answer Kenny Bernstein's 1985 long-nose Ford Tempo body. Photo from Martin, MI 1985. Was the quickest car in the sport for most of the 1985 season until Bernstein went 5.55 at Rockingham Fall. |

Notes: Used Cordoba body after ruining Dart. Tom blew the Corboda body off this car in early 1977 and finished the season in yet another Dart. Chronology for this Cordoba is July, August 1976 through March, April 1977. Due to the notch-back roof, the car had turbulence issues on the rear deck, and just weeks after its debut, Ivo was using coat hangers(.) to keep the rear spoilers from tearing off the car. This is a true story, I witnessed it firsthand. - David Hapgood |

Notes: Rick Howard photo from 1996 U.S. Nats, Indy. Force put on a virtuoso performance at Indy in winning a record-tying 11th event of the season, a 59th career win and a record sixth Winston Funny Car title. And if that wasn't enough, he also won his 4th Big Bud Shootout. Force qualified 1st (4.966 Low ET of Meet and Track Record). |

Notes: Great-looking machine that was lost in a spectacular top end crash at the '77 Nationals in Indy. Formerly listed 6.085, 236 best but Cars Magazine article cited 6.07, 237. | I also have those numbers from GVR for '77, but wasn't sure if the whole 'timing' thing at GVR was legit now. If those numbers were still considered sketchy, I found a 6.18 at Union Grove and a 234.98 at Indy in '77. - Dennis Doubleday |

Notes: Second quickest car in sport after Foster, Setzer in 1972. Run came against Foster's 6.30, making it the quickest side by sider to date at that time. (And the 225 was paired with Foster's 235.60, making it the FASTEST side by sider as well.) Also 6.606, 218.44 at Indy Nationals 72. |

Notes: Debuted the 1969 blown Logghe Nova at Motor City Dragway and set the track MPH record at 197 (with a 427 Chevy motor). Two weeks later the car went end over end at Englishtown and the Army decided I should crew chief a M1A1 tank instead of race cars. End of story. - Dick Abbott |

Notes: This is Don's first Buttera Cuda that made its debut in late 1970 replacing his Ron Scrima built car. This car was originally painted yellow using the same design that was on Don's first Hot Wheels car. Don was low qualifier at the 1970 NHRA Hot Wheels Supernationals with a 7.04 losing to Richard Tharp in the first round. At the 1970 OCIR Manufacturer's Championships Don ran consistent 6 second ETs (6.93-6.91-6.89) and had top speed of the meet (217.91 mph) while helping Plymouth win the overall team championship. Don also won the Toys for Tots race at Irwindale on 12-12-70, running a track record 6.92 ET at 192.70. This car was painted white with red flames for the start of the 1971 season and ran successfully for almost two years. |

Notes: AKA Superman. We originally had a 240 mph speed recorded for 1973. That is too fast for 1973. When did Jim run that number? Confirmed 211.76 at Ontario 73, but no doubt Jim fan faster than that. |
