Notes: With Art Ward at the wheel, the team qualified no. 1 for Super Eliminator at '68 NHRA World Finals in Tulsa with a 7.58. We need confirmation of whether John Dekker drove the car in 1968, need the ET, and need confirmation of the 184.04 speed. | Roger Guzman's new Corvair featured a 124" wheelbase chassis built by Seyfer. It was not a lightweight, weighing in at 2,100 lbs. The engine was a 427 Chevy bored and stroked with a Crankshaft Company crank to 497 cubic inches. The engine used a Howards cam. A B&M TorqueFlite transmission was used. |

Notes: In mid-September, Jones was at Richmond for a best of three match against Roger Lindamood. He lost the first race to the "Color Me Gone" Charger, but he won the second with an 8.50/185 when the Dodge broke a transmission. Lindamood fixed the car and returned to sew up the match by beating him in the final. |
