Notes: Jack and Bill Schultz reunited and won the sixteen-car Gasser show at Irwindale on September 26. He qualified #2 with a 7.46. In the first round, he beat the "Gas Company" with another 7.46/179.28. He got a "bye" run in round two due to having Low ET of the first-round. In the semifinals, Hal Brannin (Brannin Bros.) fouled and Jones advanced to the final with a 10.54. In the final he faced off against Sam Davis in the "Freight Train" and Sam fouled giving Jack an easy victory.

Notes: After blowing their engine in the last race of the 1958 season at Spokane, members of the Cogs car club started rebuilding a new gas dragster with a '59 Chrysler motor, Beast IV. They had the new car ready for running at Shelton's race on June 7 where they clocked 9.86 at 154.90 mph. They were consistent Top Eliminator winners at Shelton, Bayview, and other Northwest drag strips. They were invited to enter the U.S. Nationals at Detroit and were making plans to do so. Notes: They built a new '57 engine (Drag News, 1/9/60, reported that it was just one of the two motors) for their 2-engined dragster to begin the season. They put Algon injectors on both motors. They ran at Lions with the new set-up on Jan. 3, taking Top Eliminator with 9.20 at 161.87 mph. They ran successfully in three other races at Lions before listing the dragster for sale in the 4/16/60 issue of Drag News. Notes: The Ono Brothers were turning heads with their gas dragster on the UDRA circuit. They pulled in to Martin, Michigan, for a circuit race in June. Mits came off the trailer and ran 7.68/200.88. Rain canceled the race. They then went to Saginaw, Michigan, for the next UDRA race and once again came off the trailer with an eye-opening 7.62/201.34. Unfortunately, the team cracked a cylinder head on the run and was out of competition. They ran 7.661/199.94 at Indy.

Notes: Rosberg was in Las Vegas in February for the Stardust National Open. It was an eight-car show, and he lasted until the semifinal before losing to eventual winner Don Enriquez. On March 9, he was at OCIR for an eight-car show. His 7.89/189.06 qualified #6, but in the opening round, he lost to Bob Muravez in the "Freight Train." The following week (March 16), he went to Riverside for the HRM Championships. The eight-car field had a 7.77 "bump," and Dick failed to qualify. He was back at OCIR on May 10, where his 7.65 qualified #3 in the eight-car field. Muravez blew one of his engines in the first round against him, so Rosberg advanced with a 7.99/190.66. In the semifinal, his 7.72/198.66 lost to Walt Rhoades' 7.74/198. Lions held an eight-car show at the end of the month, and Rosberg qualified #6 with a 7.72. A slightly better 7.70/193.54 in the first round fell to Norm Wilcox's 7.56/191. From there, it was back to OCIR on June 7. Dick qualified #1, and as only seven cars showed, he got the "odd-lot" solo in round one. In the semifinal, he advanced with a 7.79/187.10 when Denny McCarrell fouled. He faced Dave Russell in the final, and he fouled away a 7.73/192.30 while Russell ran an easy 8.41128 for the victory. At Dallas, for the NHRA Springnationals, Dick's 7.81/191.48 qualified on the "bump" for the sixteen car field. He improved to 7.72/191.48 in the first round that advanced over a fouling Jack Mitchell. In round two, he lost to Phil Hobbs. Dick ran 7.63 at the Indy Nationals.

Notes: Stevens was at Bakersfield for the March Meet. It was a sixteen-car field, and in the first round, he ran 7.68/191.89 to defeat Mark Pieri's 7.85/196. Norm Wilcox fouled against him in round two, so he eased to a 10.13/95.74 to advance. But in the semifinal, he fouled against eventual winner Walt Rhoades in the "Gas House Gang" car. The following week (March 9), he was at OCIR for an eight-car show. His 7.77/193.54 (Top Speed) qualified #3.Another 7.77/181.08 in the opening round beat Jim Bunker, and in the semifinal, a 7.79/192.70 beat Bob Muravez driving the "Freight Train. He faced Mike Snively in the final, and Walt's 7.81/191.88 got the victory over Snively's 7.98. His next stop was at Riverside for the HRM Championships. This was an eight-car show, and he failed to break into the 7.77 "bump."
