Notes: Twenty-one cars attempted to qualify for an eight-car show at OCIR on May 10, Unfortunately, Russell's best of 7.75 was good for second alternate. Dave won over an eight-car field at OCIR on June 7. He set Low ET in the semifinals with a 7.70/193.12 that beat Don Hampton's 8.01/189. In the final, he ran low qualifier Dick Rosberg, but Rosberg fouled so Dave eased to an 8.41/128.20 for the victory.

Notes: Stevens was at Bakersfield for the March Meet. It was a sixteen-car field, and in the first round, he ran 7.68/191.89 to defeat Mark Pieri's 7.85/196. Norm Wilcox fouled against him in round two, so he eased to a 10.13/95.74 to advance. But in the semifinal, he fouled against eventual winner Walt Rhoades in the "Gas House Gang" car. The following week (March 9), he was at OCIR for an eight-car show. His 7.77/193.54 (Top Speed) qualified #3.Another 7.77/181.08 in the opening round beat Jim Bunker, and in the semifinal, a 7.79/192.70 beat Bob Muravez driving the "Freight Train. He faced Mike Snively in the final, and Walt's 7.81/191.88 got the victory over Snively's 7.98. His next stop was at Riverside for the HRM Championships. This was an eight-car show, and he failed to break into the 7.77 "bump."

Notes: Qualified at Pomona 1966 with an 8.31. One of just a handful of 7 second TG cars in 1966. He was runner-up to Billy Scott at San Fernando on May 1 where his 8.27/189.06 lost to Scott's 8.31/189. Amyx fatally injured in crash at Lions May 1966. It happened in qualifying for the eight-car show on May 21. The engine let go and Harrell crashed hard. He was taken to the hospital and was originally thought to be OK with minor injuries. But shortly after, he died of a skull fracture. He was 33 years old.

Notes: The team of Bill Schultz and Jack Jones broke up mid-1969. Jones & Speelman debuted at Irwindale Aug-69. Raced at Indy (7.59, 192.28) and the NHRA World Finals at Dallas where they won, becoming the 1969 NHRA Top Gas champions. At the World Finals they were Q1 using a 2-speed Lenco for the first time. Bill Schultz raced the remainder of events in 1969 with Rick Ramsey driving.

Notes: This team consisted of Dave Emerson, Joe Streje, and Jack Mitchell. The car used an early Hemi stroked to 464 and a Reath 5/8 stroker crank. Ansen provided the rods and pistons. An Engle cam operates the Donovan valves, and a Hilborn injector was used. The 155" chassis was from R&B. The total weight of the bare chassis was just 60 lbs. The car was featured in the August '67 issue of All-American Drags, and it was said to have run a best of 8.05/192. The team ran a confirmed 8.122/191.18 at Indy 1967. Period event coverage (Milwaukee Sentinel 5/30/67) gives the hometown of Beloit, Wis. - RT
