Notes: Frank ran the Ford on his own for at least 1987 after the Bernstein deal fell through. We need to confirm the T-Bird was run in 1988. Frank qualifed number 5 at IHRA Atco 1988 with a 7.393 187.50. Iaconio lasted to the semis, he beat Barry Shirley 7.43 to 7.51 in the first round, in the second he bested Kenny Korestky 7.46 to 7.50, til' failing to Bob Glidden's 7.368 with his own 7.46. |

Notes: Haas was driving this car at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals. He was one of 53 attempting to qualify for the sixteen-car field, and if the field had been a 32 car show, his 7.473/185.52 would have qualified on the "bump." Jerry ran 7.659/182.28 at Englishtown, 7.518/185.14 at Indy, 7.426/188.0 at Maple Grove, 7.412/187.61 at Houston Fall, 7.596/183.22 at Seattle, and 7.492/185.33 at the Pomona World Finals. We need to confirm that he drove Emil's car at all these events. Formerly listed 7.423/187.42 for this entry. |

Notes: Reid ran the new Beretta and the Camaro this year. The Camaro ran through at least Memphis, so Butch ran his best times of 7.380/187.30 at Gainesville in the Camaro. Reid qualified for every NHRA National event since the '87 Winternationals. But that streak stopped at Indy in '88 when his 7.50 failed to crack the 7.48 "bump" for the NHRA US Nationals. |

Notes: The team raced at four NHRA national events this year. At Gainesville, they were the 20th alternate (out of about 55 entries) at 7.503/186.10. Bob was the 11th alternate at Brainerd at 7.589/183.15. His 7.499/184.31 failed to qualify at Indy for the NHRA US Nationals. He wasn't too far off (fifth alternate) as the "bump" was 7.488. He finished the season with his best ET at Houston, but it also was a DNQ (second alternate), 7.383/187.26. |

Notes: Gonzales was at Darlington on March 13 for the IHRA Winternationals. He was one of the 13 500 cubic inch cars that qualified for the sixteen-car field. His 7.47/181 got the "bump," which was still pretty good considering that there were 36 cars in attendance. In the opening round of eliminations, he fouled against low qualifier Bob Glidden. The following week he was at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals. A 7.408/186.21 qualified #12, and in round one, he beat Reid Whisnant, 7.452/187.26 to 7.75/186. Unfortunately, he broke against Joe Lepone in the next round. Carlos ran 7.460/185.10 at IHRA Ennis 4/88. Photo from 1988 Bristol, Tenn. He was the fourth alternate at Atlanta at 7.565/184.08 and the ninth alternate at Memphis at 7.556/184.88. He also DNQd at the following NHRA events: Englishtown at 7.554/183.00 and Indy at 7.503/184.57. Indy was Carlos's last NHRA national event of the year. |

Notes: Darrell attempted to qualify at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals. Despite running a record 7.474/187.46 for Mopar doorslammers, he was nowhere close to making the show, even if it had been a 32 car field. Darrell also ran the following NHRA events with the following best times: Atlanta, 7.603/183.44, Memphis, 7.540/185.98, Baton Rouge, 7.522/185.72, Columbus, 7.562/184.19, Englishtown, 7.565/184.76, Brainerd, 7.598/182.96, Indy, 197.550/183.74, Reading, 7.448/186.76, Baytown, 7.358/187.22 (#13 qualifier and first-round loss to Bruce Allen, 7.47/185 to 8.43/120), Phoenix, 7.547/184.09, and Pomona Finals, 7.492/184.76. All were DNQ efforts except for Houston, but the team was getting closer to qualifying by the end of the year. Darrell did qualify for the Pomona Winters, but that was in the team's Camaro. |

Notes: Garrett qualified number 11 at Atco 1988 with a 7.46/184, but he fell in the second round to the 7.532/183.67 of George Cabel after beating Joe Folgore in the first round, 7.519/184.80 to 7.464. Charlie was the fourth alternate at NHRA Gainesville at 7.428/187.11. He was in the middle of the DNQ pack at NHRA Atlanta at 7.593/182.96. The same result occurred at NHRA Maple Grove, where his 7.476/185.46 failed to crack the field. Those were Charlie's only NHRA national events in 1988. |

Notes: Rivera was the fifth alternate at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 7.49/184.76. He also failed to qualify at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals, where he was the eighth alternate at 7.45/186.56. He was one of 39 drivers attempting to qualify at Memphis for the NHRA Mid-South Nationals in mid-May. He ended up as the eighth alternate at 7.54/186.21. Gordie made the show at Baton Rouge for the NHRA Cajun Nationals, where his 7.47/186.56 qualified #9. Unfortunately, that set up a first-round meeting with low qualifier Warren Johnson in which he lost. |

Notes: Ingersoll was one of 43 drivers that showed up at Pomona and attempted to qualify for the NHRA Winternationals sixteen car field. He ended up at the sixteenth alternate with a 7.56/185.87 best. He was at Darlington in March for the IHRA Winternationals. Under Billy Meyer's direction, the IHRA "Mountain Motored" cars were being phased out. Thirty-six cars attempted to qualify, and only three big-engined cars made the show. Buddy's 7.45/186.72 qualified #12. He lost to one of the three "Mountain Motored" drivers in the opening round, Jerry Haas. The following week (March 20), Gainesville continued to have a large turnout of cars as 55 of the factory hot rods showed up for the NHRA Gatornationals. Unfortunately, Ingersoll's 7.442/186.95 best was the seventh alternate. Those were his best times of the year. Buddy ran 7.488/184.53 at IHRA Ennis TX 4/08/88. |

Steve just missed the show at Indy for the NHRA US Nationals when his 7.49/184.23 failed to crack the 7.48 "bump."His 7.381/186.72 qualified #11 at Maple Grove for the NHRA Keystone Nationals. In the first round, his 7.46/184.65 fell to Warren Johnson's 7.38/187. The 7.381/186.72 at Maple Grove and 186.87 at the Pomona Winters were his best NHRA national event times. We formerly listed 7.355 at 188.10. Were those run at one of the independent 500-inch shows? MIR, Oregon? |

Notes: Ran the new Beretta and the Camaro this year. The Camaro ran through at least Memphis, so Butch's best times of 7.380/187.30 at Gainesville were run in the Camaro. Listing Butch's best times at Maple Grove and Houston and assuming those are the Beretta. We need confirmation. |

Notes: Photo from 1988 NHRA Springnationals, where Harold did not qualify at 7.600/184.91. He ran 7.574/184.31 DNQ at Englishtown, 7.549/183.78 DNQ at Indy, and a 7.444/185.87 DNQ at Maple Grove. We need to validate that all those events were run in the Party Time. Could some of them have been in the Penny Family Firenza out of Chicago? |
