Notes: Jim was at Maple Grove in June for the Dutch Classic race. His 6.32 qualified #5 in the eight-car field. That forced him to run low qualifier Grant Stoms in the opening round. He had a bit of luck on his side as Grant slowed to 6.73/132 in their race, and Jim's 6.40/208.90 got the win. He had problems in the semi-finals and shut down against Clayton Harris, who advanced with a 7.27/171. |

Notes: Experimented with one of the most unusual supercharger/injector combinations I've ever seen. It appeared to be two 4/71 blowers mated together, topped with an 8-port crower injector that had been cut into 4 pairs of 2. These were mounted inline, AND tilted forward at 30-degree or so angle! He improved to 5.24/272.72 in the opening round to upset low qualifier Jim Bailey. In the semifinals, he ran another 5.24 at 277.26 to beat Doug Foxworth's 5.29/269. He faced Doug Herbert in the final and Doug looked strong as he had run a 5.14 in his semifinal race. But Butch was consistent and a 5.23/273.88 in the final picked up the victory over Herbert's 5.30/273. |

Notes: Ormsby was at Kingdon for an eight-car show in January. He qualified #4 with a 7.76, and he lasted until the semifinals before losing to Rich Bruckman. Shortly after that, he was at Fremont, where six cars showed. He set Low ET in qualifying #1 with a 7.53. An opening round 7.79.46 defeated Chuck Flores, who got out of shape and shut off. In the semifinal, he was late off the line, and his 7.72/203.60 (Top Speed), lost to eventual winner Rich Zoucha's 8.10/187. On June 17, he was back at Fremont, where he ran 7.75/212 in qualifying. Unfortunately, he blew his enginr=e in the opening round of eliminations. He also ran 7.54/199.54 at Fresno, CA, 4/02/67. |
