Notes: Glen Blakeley helped to build the chassis. Garlits was contracted to run only the IHRA series in 1976, so he did not run any NHRA or AHRA national events. Photo from the 1976 PHR Championships, US 131 Dragway, Martin, Michigan. We need to confirm where the times were run. We originally listed them as happening at NHRA Atlanta and Indy 1976, but as noted, Don did not run the NHRA circuit this year. Don ran at Santa Pod for the Easter Meet but was off the pace all day with mechanical problems and a best time in the 6.90s. He redlighted against Peter Crane in round one, and Crane ran the first five in Europe with a 5.97. Was that this Swamp Rat or an older one? See the Video Link.

Notes: Gary debuted the "Thrush Muffler" car in May at the NHRA Division 6 race in Seattle. He qualified #1 for the sixteen-car field with a 6.13, and he beat James Warren and Larry Kleinbrook in the first two rounds before losing to eventual winner Herm Petersen's 6.23/234 with an off-pace 7.71/122. He won the Division 1 race at Cayuga, and shortly after that, he won the third Division 3 race at Blaney. The car made its first national event showing at Columbus for the NHRA Springnationals. Gary was having a rough time making the field, as it took five attempts before his 6.23 qualified him #12 for the show. It was a little embarrassing when, in the first round, his 6.65 lost to Graham Light's 6.24. Light was driving Beck's old car. Things didn't go much better at the NHRA Summernationals at Englishtown. Beck qualified #12, and in the opening round, his 6.14/227.84 beat John Wiebe's 6.14/234. But in round two, his off-pace 6.66/161.29 was lost to Jeb Allen's 6.13/227. A week later (July 17), he was in Seattle for the first race of the PDA Championships. He didn't reach the final but set Low ET and Top Speed at 5.99/238.09. At the second PDA race run at Fremont on July 24, he failed to reach the finals again, but he had a Top Speed at 243.93. He showed them at the last PDA race held at OCIR. He qualified #3 for the 32 car show with a 6.15 at only 212.76, but it was a long way back from Don Garlits, who qualified #1 with a 5.90/241. A first-round 6.17/218 beat Larry Dixon, and in round two, Gary's 6.16/233 took out Mike Reynolds. In round three, he really stepped it up, running 5.84/241.93 to beat Rob Bruins' 6.11/227. That set up a semifinal meeting with Garlits, who had run 5.82/245 in his third-round race. Beck cut a great light and made this race worth the cost of admission. His 5.89/236.22 beat "Big Daddy's" better 5.83/244. Beck went on to win by beating Ken Moitoza in a smoke-filled final. Gary's final round numbers were 6.43/226.70. He was in Canada the following week (August 8) for the NHRA Grandnationals. It was another excellent outing for the team. He qualified #2 with a 6.02/233.76 behind Richard Tharp's 6.02/236 in the "Candies and Hughes" car. It was these two who would meet for the money. Beck started eliminations with a 6.38 over Frank Bradley, and in round two, his 6.14/241.93 beat Tom Kaiser. He got the odd-lot solo in the semifinals and ran 5.96/224.43. Tharp was also putting down some numbers. He had run 6.01, 5.98, and a semifinal 5.97. It was anyone's race in the final, but Beck made his fellow Canadians happy by setting a track record 5.81 at 243.24 (Top Speed) to get the win over Tharp's 6.08/199. Garlits got payback on Beck at the PHR Championships. Don qualified #1 for the sixteen-car field, and Gary's 6.12 got him the #9 spot in the show. This meant that the two ran each other in the first round. Garlits ran 5.88/238 to put the "Thrushmobile's" 6.18/216.86 on the trailer. Beck then went to Beech Bend for the final NHRA Division 3 race. He qualified #1 with a track record 5.90 at 224.43 and in the final Mike Palmer broke so Gary's 5.99/215.82 picked up the win. Notes: During Lions Drag Strip's "Back to School Rocking and Racing Spectacular" Randy ran 6.13 and 6.14 in winning the 8 car top fuel invitational. His 6.14/232.55 beat James Warren in the top fuel final and his earlier 6.13 reset the Lions track record. At the time, his 6.13 was the fourth quickest time ever recorded with only Jerry Ruth (6.06), Don Garlits (6.10), and Gary Beck (6.11) having run quicker. Also, number 2 qualifier at the 1972 NHRA Nationals with a 6.196/234.98, tying Clayton Harris for Top Speed of the Meet. Photo from the 1972 NHRA Springnationals, National Trail Raceway, Columbus, Ohio. Finished second in Division 7 points. Also ran 6.66 at Pomona, 6.48 at Columbus, 6.19 at Indy, 6.23 at Ontario.

Notes: Last Front engine dragster. A newspaper report from 1971 notes that Vic Brown's 6.55/228.42 at Union Grove (Wis.) on 5/30/70 broke a track record set the previous Labor Day by Chris Karamesines (6.56/227.31). - RT | Also 6.755/202.70 original listing and 6.56 at New York National. Karamesines was at Beeline Dragway for the AHRA Winternationals. He qualified #5 in the sixteen-car field. In the opening round of eliminations, he fouled against Dave Chenevert. Chris did not race at the Bakersfield March Meet, choosing to run at Lions for the AHRA Grand American run on the same weekend(March 8). There, his 6.94 beat Frank Rupert in round one, but in the second round, his 6.77 lost to Jimmy King's 6.69. In April, he was at LaPlace's Spring Drag Festival. It was only an eight-car show, and Chris ran 6.92 to qualify #6. A first-round 8.77 advanced when Mike Tarter broke on the line, and in the semifinals, his 6.90/207.84 beat Cliff Smith's ailing car. Not sure what happened in the final (maybe he fouled?), but his 6.85/208.80 finished runner-up to Chip Woodall's 7.54/166. On April 19, the "Greek" was at Rockingham for the AHRA Pro-Am Championships. Unfortunately, he broke against "Sneaky Pete" Robinson in the first round.

Notes: Fremont held an eight-car show on May 30 and Baca was there. He qualified #7 with a 6.95, but fouled against Bill Alexander in the first round. On September 13, Dennis was at the NHRA Division 4 final at Amarillo. It was a sixteen-car show and he qualified #3 with a 7.12 and lasted until the semifinals before losing to eventual winner Chip Woodall. Baca ran really well at the Irwindale Grand Prix on October 3. In the first round of the 32 car show, both he and Les Allen ran 6.91, but Dennis got the win. He had another close race in round two when his 6.83/209.30 beat Tony Nancy's 6.85/209. In round three, he ran Dave Uyehara and they both broke, but Baca won the coasting contest with a 7.20/172.08. Luck was on his side in the semifinals when he lost a rear end and ran 8.94/105.63, but still won when Carl Olson shut off to a 9.48/138. In the final, he faced James Warren. Baca's luck ran out as his 6.78/201.78 lost to Warren's 6.68/230. | NHRA best national event ET was 6.550/225.56 at the Indy Nationals. Also ran 6.68 at Fremont 1970 and 209.30 at Irwindale 10/3/70.

Notes: At the AHRA Winternationals, Dave qualified #8, and in round one, his 7.28/191.48 beat Gerry Glenn's 7.27. Unfortunately, he lost to Cliff Zink in the second round. At Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals, he qualified #31 with a 7.27/196.93 but improved to a first-round 7.04 that lost to Jerry Ruth's holeshot-aided 7.10. Dave was at Martin, Michigan, on July 4. The track was holding two eight-car Top Fuel races. One was a UDRA race, and the other was called an "All-Star." Powers ran in the "All-Star" race, and in the opening round, his 7.08/211.76 beat Duke Ray in the "GuZler." He set Low ET of the meet in the semifinal, where his 6.95/217.38 beat a fouling Leroy Goldstein in the "Ramchargers" car. He faced Don Cook in the final, and despite running 6.97/217.90 (Top Speed), he left a big red light shining back on the tree. This year, the team qualified both their Top Fuel car and a Funny Car at Indy.

Notes: Nelson racked up top fuel eliminator wins all over Southern California in the 1957 season. He debuted the side-by-side motored dragster at Lions on May 19, clocking a promising 11.37 at 125.87 mph. In less than a month, he was consistently running over 140 mph. He ran 142.97 mph at Colton on June 9, 143.54 mph at Bakersfield on July 7, and 142.85 mph at Half Moon Bay on July 28. Along the way, he had some impressive wins. He won the Drag Racers Incorporated race at Colton on June 9 with times of 10.27 and a best speed of 142.57 mph. He was almost unbeatable at Lions or San Fernando. He finished the 1957 season with a top fuel eliminator win at Colton on Nov. 17, clocking 10.10 at 145.37 mph.; Photo: George Klass Collection - MB

Notes: Connie started the 1988 season very slowly but found the combination at the final few NHRA national events. He started the season at Firebird Raceway's Super Bowl of Drag Racing event. It was an eight-car field, and he qualified #7. In the opening round, he lost to Gary Ormsby. He failed to qualify at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals, where he was the fourth alternate at 5.54/254.38. He also attempted to qualify at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals, where he was the second alternate at 5.46/266.74. The IHRA Texas Nationals was rained out. The day before the race was run, the teams were allowed a test and tune run. Kalitta ran a career-best (to this point) 5.22. He had actually qualified #10 in the field with a 5.29/263.34. However, his 5.32/258 in the opening round fell to Gene Snow's 5.20/274. At Memphis, for the NHRA Mid-South Nationals, his 5.40/260.94 qualified #11. Once again, he lost in round one, where he shut down to 14.56/49.41, losing to Mike Brotherton's 5.82/249. Shortly after that (May 22), Kalitta was at Bristol for the IHRA Springnationals. He qualified #5 and couldn't shake the first-round blues as his 5.53/249.44 lost to Eddie Hill's 5.40/269. The following week (May 29, he was in Baton Rouge for the NHRA Cajun Nationals. Kalitta's 5.33/273.80 qualified #8. But as was the case later, an off-pace 5.73/203.16 in the first round lost to Bill Mullins' 5.62/242. | 4/09/1988 - Connie Kalitta wins the inaugural Winston Invitational, 5.19 seconds at 276.0 mph. His 5.09 at the Supernationals was half the quickest side-by-side pass (Amato 5.071). He ran his best times of the season there in qualifying #4 at 5.06/283.01. He also ran 5.080 at the World Finals. Notes: Painted a pale pink with a matching pink push truck, the dragster debuted for shake-down runs at Fremont in early March. They got in about eighteen runs in the 179-81 mph range. At Riverside on Mar. 26, Dyer beat Chris Karamesines in the first round of top fuel eliminator when The Greek backed off after pulling a big wheelstand at the starting line. Dyer ran 8.86 at 168.82 mph for the win. Pinks Auto won the second round against the Eelco Shift Special dragster with a strong 8.86. There was no speed because the lights had been run over in the previous round. Dyer took top fuel, beating Mooneyham & Sharp in the finals with 8.69 at 159.18 mph. The top eliminator run had to be called because of darkness. They enjoyed continued success, with Dyer setting an impressive new ET record for fuel dragsters of 8.09 at Riverside on July 23. He also ran 179.68 mph in winning top eliminator against a stellar field of fuel dragsters. The previous world record was 8.23 seconds. Notes: Quickest ET at the time, Beeline AHRA. Chris qualified #1 at the AHRA Winternationals with the 7.42 but lost to Tom Hoover's 7.78/193.96 in the first round, with a 7.80/196.92. He also qualified #1 with a 7.76 (Low ET) at Pomona on March 28 for a sixteen-car UDRA meet. Bill Leavitt's 7.89/192.70 stopped him in the first round, but Chris' losing 7.95/203.16 held for Top Speed. In June, for the NHRA Springnationals, a 7.67/202.70 qualified Chris third, and on Saturday's AA/FD class runoffs, a 7.80/200.88 beat Danny Ongais (7.99/192.70), who fouled. A second-round 7.67/202.70 advanced when the Ramchargers broke, and a 7.93/202.70 got him into the class runoff with Maynard Rupp. There Chris' engine let go, and Rupp won with a 7.99/142.40. Made the finals at NHRA Bristol 65 with a 7.67/202.70 best. Photo from 7/67.

Notes: Photo 1979 US Nationals. Beadle owned it, Yancey & Camp funded it. - Dave Settles, Racin & Rockin Radio show, 7/01/13 | The new "Blue Max" dragster wasn't finished until mid-June. But the wait was worth it, as the car really performed. Dave Settles was chosen to drive and the team started off with a victory at the IHRA Springnationals at Bristol. Dave qualified #1 for the eight-car field with a 5.86/239.36. But that was the slowest the car ran on the weekend. He opened up with a 5.84 over Walt Barbin and in the semifinals, he set the track record with a 5.77 at 243.90 to beat Bobby Hilton in the "Jim and Allison Lee" car at 5.89/237. He faced #2 qualifier Johnny Abbott in the final and a strong 5.79/246.57 (new track speed record) beat Abbott's 5.90/240. At the NHRA Mile High Nationals at Denver, the high altitude slowed the car to a 6.16/233.16 during qualifying, but it was enough to qualify #7 in the eight-car field. Settles lasted until the semifinals before he lost to eventual winner Kelly Brown. Dave showed that his times from Bristol were no fluke as he qualified #1 at Englishtown for the NHRA Summernationals with a 5.82 (Low ET) at 246.57. Another 5.82 at 234 in the first round, beat Frank Bradley and in the second round Dave Uyehara lost fire, so Settles advanced with a 5.92 single. He beat Don Garlits' 5.98 in the semifinals with a 5.85/245. Dave was definitely the car to beat as no other car had run 5.8s in eliminations. His final round opponent was Jeb Allen who had run a 5.96 in qualifying, but was stuck in the sixes during eliminations. But in the final, the "Blue Max" broke a transmission and Jeb ran 6.17/227 for the victory. A week later (July 22), the team was at Milan for the IHRA Northern Nationals. Once again Dave qualified #1, this time with a 5.81. He beat Rob Bruins in the opening round and in the semifinals, he set Low ET with another 5.77 at 241.93 in beating Clayton Harris' 6.07. He faced Garlits in the final and the "old man" showed he still had great reflexes by winning their race with a 5.88/245 over Settles' quicker 5.84/241.28.

Notes: Listed times from Drag Racing List Volume 5, Number 4, Fall 1990 issue has 283.91. | Bernstein made his Top Fuel debut at Firebird Raceway in January It was a test and tune race, and he made six passes. The first was a half-track 7.17/96.96. The next three runs were 5.58/240.38, a 5.31/260.86, and a 5.42/264.16. His next run was the best, a 5.16/266.90. His last run resulted in a 5.47/221.29. Not too bad for his first time out, but he hoped for better at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals. Crew Chief Dale Armstrong gave him what he wanted when he tuned it up to a 5.07/268.09 to qualify #7 at Pomona. Kenny got lucky in round one, when his tire smoking 5.72/252.95 beat Chris Karamesines who was also having trouble. In round two, Kenny stepped up to 5.01/276.15 while beating Darrell Gwynn's identical 5.01 at 279. Unfortunately, Bernstein fouled against eventual winner Lori Johns in the semifinals. At the NHRA Arizona Nationals, he qualified #14 with a 5.16/274.13, but lost to Shirley Muldowney in the first round. Bernstein almost broke into the "four's" at Houston for the NHRA Supernationals when he ran 5.00/277.34 to qualify #6. But in the first round, he lost to Eddie Hill. His luck wasn't made better at Darlington the following week for the IHRA Winternationals. There he smoked the tires and lost to alternate Fred Farndon in round one. The next stop for the "Budweiser King" was at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals. A 5.08/267.37 qualified #5, but in the first round, both he and Karamesines smoked the tires and the "Greek" recovered first for the win. The team was eager to get past the first-round, but it didn't happen at Atlanta for the NHRA Southern Nationals. There Bernstein's 5.14/279.32 qualified #14, and he lost to Dick LaHaie in the first round. He was at Memphis in May for the NHRA Mid-South Nationals and for the first time since Pomona, Kenny made it past the first-round. He qualified #5 with a 5.06. He ran 5.06 in the first two rounds to beat Jim Head and Hill to advance into the semifinals where he lost to Joe Amato's 4.99.

Notes: This car was nicknamed Godzilla and the Cable Car. | Don started the season by qualifying #3 in the eight-car field at the AHRA Winternationals. Unfortunately, he lost to Jeb Allen in the first round. He then went to Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals where his best of 6.05/243.24 was good for the third alternate. Garlits competed at Bakersfield for the March Meet, but he lost early. At the NHRA Gatornationals, his 5.94 qualified #4 and in the first round, he beat Junior Kaiser. In round two, a 6.02 beat John Kimble's 6.08, but in the semifinals, he had problems and shut off to 7.36/119.20 which lost to eventual winner Jeb Allen. He showed up at the NHRA Division 3 Opener at Indianapolis in April where his 5.98 qualified #1 for the eight-car field. He beat Wayne Ernest in round one, and in the semifinals, his 6.03/234.98 beat Jeg Coughlin's 6.15/237. This put Don into the final against Don Reed. Garlits grabbed the victory with a 6.10/227.27 when Reed had problems and shut off to a 10.95/61. The next major NHRA race was the Cajun Nationals at Baton Rouge on April 27. It was an eight-car show and Garlits qualified #3 with a 5.95/243.24. A 6.02/242.58 in the first round, lost to Coughlin's 5.99/235. At the NHRA Springnationals, Don's 5.96/241.93 qualified #3. He beat Junior Kaiser in the opening round and in round two, his 6.06/245 got some revenge over Coughlin's 6.20. But in the semifinals, he faced Shirley Muldowney. Don took a chance to the tree and fouled. He didn't see it and kept on the pedal, setting Low ET with a 5.932, but losing to Shirley's 6.04. Shirley got Don again at the PHR event in August, winning with a 5.962 to 5.961 holeshot victory in the final. Don’s best NHRA national event times were the 5.932/247.93 at the Springnationals. Where was the 5.75/251.39 run?

Notes: Photo from 1979 US Nationals. Rob qualified #9 at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 5.92/243.90. He lost to low qualifier Connie Kalitta in the first round, when he fouled. He qualified #2 at Fremont for the NHRA Division 6 race with a 5.88/243.90. Unfortunately, he broke in the first round, against Noel Reese. He did much better at the second Division 6 race at Seattle on May 4. He beat Wayne Warner and Ernie Hall with times of 5.97 and 6.07 at 241.93 to advance to the final. In the final, he faced Jerry Ruth. Jerry ran 6.08 in the final, but he lost to Rob's 5.98/242.58 (Top Speed).

Notes: This was probably Tony's best season behind the wheel of a Top Fuel Dragster. He started the season by qualifying #1 with a 6.82 at the first OCIR All-Pro on Jan 4. Unfortunately, he fouled away a 6.90/219.51 in the first round, against Joe Lee. At the second OCIR All-Pro event on January 18, he lost to Gerry Glenn's 6.75/216 in the first round, with a 6.96/209.79. He got back in on the break rule when Kelly Brown broke, but he fouled opposite Norm Wilcox. He was at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals on February 1. A 6.93 qualified #14 in the 32 car field. He advanced steadily towards the finals, getting a couple of easy runs along the way. In the third round, he ran a 7.63 when Steve Carbone broke just off the line and in the semifinal, Jim Davis fouled against him. He lost to Larry Dixon's 6.86 in the final. Tony failed to qualify at the third OCIR All-Pro on February 22, but Kelly Brown was unable to run so Nancy took his place in the field. He ran a strong 6.74/218.97 in the first round, over low qualifier Ron Hampshire's 6.77/229. A broken motor kept him from running Gary Cochran in the semis. Then came his big win of '70 at Famoso for the March Meet. 75 cars showed to qualify for a spot in the 32 car field. Tony's 6.93 qualified #10. Dwight Salisbury fouled against him in the opening round and he won a close second round race against Glenn. Both ran 6.87, Tony at 214.78 and Glenn at 215. In the third round, he beat James Warren's 7.17/209 with a 7.03/213.76. In the semifinals, he ran his best time of the event, a 6.81/215.30 over Jim Davis' 7.13/201. He won the final with a 7.09/159.57 when Harry Hibler fouled. He ran an eight-car show at Irwindale on April 11. He qualified #6, but fouled against Ron Hampshire in the first round. On June 21 he won the third NHRA Division 4 race at Oklahoma City Raceway. He qualified #1 with a track record 6.91 then beat Jimmy Duppstadt and advanced over a broken Raymond Beadle in the semifinal. In the final, Tony only needed a 7.12/208.80 to win at opponent Buddy Cortines lost fire on the line. He then raced at the second NHRA Division 7 race at Fremont. 40 cars showed up for the 16 available spots and Nancy was the quickest in qualifying with a 6.55 (Low ET). He advanced past the first-round with a 6.70 when Jim Dunn lost a clutch, but in the second round, he went up in smoke against Dave Uyehara. Tony made a good account of himself on July 25 at OCIR for the PDA Championships. He ran a first-round 6.86/187.89 over Uyehara's 7.03/222, and a second round 6.75/217.91 beat Frank Prock's 6.89/211. In the third round (32 car field), he beat Glenn's 6.94/211 with a 6.82/215.31. He took a big win in the semifinal, beating a fouling Don Prudhomme with Low ET of the meet, a 6.69/220.04. Unfortunately, he fouled in the final against Steve Carbone in Mike Kuhl's car. He set Low ET at the fourth NHRA Division 7 race at Bonneville on August 23 with a 6.82, but lost to Uyehara in the first round. Won OKC WCS race | Best NHRA national event times of 6.820/214.28.

Notes: Bill qualified #7 with a 7.97/189.86 at Pomona on Jan 9 for the Jackpot Pro Circuit Fuel race. He beat Don Prudhomme in the first round, before losing to Tommy Allen in the semifinals. Another Pro Circuit Fuel race was run at Pomona on January 23. Once again, he qualified with a 7.97, but it was good for the #14 spot this time. He lost early. At Lions on February 26 for the UDRA Winternationals, a 7.90 just made the show in the #32 spot. Once again, he lost early. Bill qualified #5 at a sixteen-car show at Lions with a 7.86 on May 14. In the first round, he improved to a 7.80/196.92, and he ran an even better 7.77/188.28 in the second round but lost to Ken Safford. He was back at Lions on May 28 for another sixteen-car show, and a first-round 7.82/200.00 beat Rick Stewart, but Leavitt's motor blew, and Stewart got back in under the "break rule." He finished runner-up to Allen on June 25 at a Top Fuel show at Carlsbad. Lions held an eight-car show on July 9, and Bill qualified #5 with a 7.63/204.54. He advanced past the first-round when Bob Downey failed to fire in the "Howard Cam Special." He only needed an 8.81/128.36 when Don Hampton shut off with no oil pressure in the semifinals. In the final, he ran an 8.07/166.05 for the runner-up spot to Dave Beebe's 7.47/191. On August 15, Bill was at Carlsbad for an eight-car show. Unfortunately, he ran an off pace 8.26/184.42 in the first round, and lost to Allen's 7.60/180. The next day (August 16), he was at Lions for an eight-car show. He had trouble and was unable to run in the first round. On August 26, he was back at Carlsbad, but his bad luck persisted when he broke in the first round. Irwindale held an eight-car show on Dec.10, and 25 cars showed up and attempted to qualify. Bill qualified on the "bump" with a 7.50/205.00. Unfortunately, he fouled against eventual winner Leroy Goldstein in the opening round of competition.

Notes: Baca started the season by winning the Fremont New Year's race on January 2. He qualified #1 with a 6.44 and beat a fouling Dwight Hughes in the first round, with a 6.60. He had another easy run in the semis when Flip Schofield fouled, but he beat Gary Ormsby with a 6.43 track record in the final. He didn't do quite as well on January 28 at the Lions Grand Premiere, as a 6.47/229.59 lost to James Warren's 6.44/231 in the first round. Dennis ran well at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals. He qualified #2 with a 6.51/231.95 (Top Speed). He ran 6.50, followed by an easy single, a 6.56/231.95, and a 6.73 to make the final over, in order, Hank Johnson, Frank Bradley, Don Moody, and Dale Funk. In the final, he smoked the tires to a 7.33/214.79 that finished second best to Carl Olson's 6.74/219. At the Bakersfield March Meet, he qualified #3 with a 6.65. Unfortunately, he lost the race against Dwight Salisbury when his motor blew at half-track in the first round. He ran well at Fremont for the AHRA Northern Nationals, going all the way to the semifinals before Don Garlits beat him with 6.18/236.22 times. Dennis still ran a 6.4, but it paled compared to Don's run. He set Low ET in qualifying #1 at Irwindale's NHRA Division 7 Opener with a 6.38 but failed to reach the finals. Dennis ran his best ET of the year at 6.14 at the Last Drag Race, Long Beach, CA, 12/02/72. He ran 6.297/229.59 at Tulsa PRA National Challenge (runner-up to Moody). Also ran 6.175/230.76 at Ontario 1972 and 6.16 at Lions WCS 72, which was half of the quickest side by side run in history (Don Moody 6.13). AKA Carpetbagger.
