Notes: Crashed the car in his first attempt at driving it at an Epping Match race in April 1975. The car was completely destroyed and Don injured his legs severely, ending his driving career. Don later had a humorous take on the run: "It wasn't a bad run, but after the third flip, I lost control." Don continues: "I had my problem with the Jade Grenade on April 20/1975., at about 1pm at New England Dragway. I am told 200 mph came up in my lane, never heard an ET. I cannot recall exactly if the Grenade group raced again in 1975. They did race again in 1976 and 1977 with Ted Wolf driving." |

Notes: Steve Swaja designed. The streamliner was active through late spring 1965, often match racing other streamliners. By July, TI was touring with a conventional car. It was definitely not the Video Liner Runner-up at Indy. It went 194.80 at Lions (spring 1965); Ivo debuted this streamliner at Fremont on Mar. 15, turning 8.24 at 192.30 mph. Five days later, he ran at Lions without the body shell, turning 8.39 at 194.80 mph. A week later, running with the body back on at Lions, he turned 8.90 at 183.66 mph. He appeared at Puyallup International Dragway on Apr. 10. At Lions on Apr. 17, he turned 8.11 at 193.96 mph. He ran at Fontana on May 1, turning 8.03 at 192.30 mph. Notes: Ran 6.50 for Low ET at Lions AHRA in January 1971, then passed away at NHRA Winternationals in 1971 on a 6.775/199.55 pass. At one time, there were as many as six Ford SOHC dragsters running in TF, but by '71, there was just one, "Sneaky Pete" Robinson's. He believed in the engine's design, going as far as to make a gear drive for the cams rather than relying on the six-foot chain. He was one of the eight TF drivers chosen by AHRA to be one of their "seeded" drivers for the AHRA Grand American races. Pete was always an innovator, and he designed a type of "vacuum" that mounted under the chassis just in front of the engine. The idea was to break the air the pull the car down onto the track(gluing it to the track). While it was the last Ford-powered dragster at the time, the engine wasn't showing any weakness as at the opening AHRA Grand American held at Lions on January 10, Pete set Low ET in qualifying #1 at 6.50 (career-best). Unfortunately, the car broke a rear end in the opening round against Rick Ramsey. The next race at Pomona was his last. Robinson had Bud Dabler listed as the driver of his car for the NHRA Winternationals, but Dabler had some handling issues with the car. Pete got behind the wheel for his last shot in qualifying. The car looked strong at half-track on his run, with the ground effects he designed seeming to hold the car to the track. But then the front tires started to come off the rims, and the tie rods were bending. His vacuum effects dam was scraping the ground, and his helmet was coming off his head. The car hit the guardrail at the first mph light and tore out two sections. The dragster exploded, and the remains of the car skidded across the track and came to a stop near the timeslip booth on the return road. Somehow, 37-year-old Robinson was still alive. He was rushed to the hospital but died of his injuries soon after. The sport lost a legend. |

Notes: The car's first public appearances were at car shows in Sacramento and Oakland. It also made a non-competing appearance at the March Meet. But one of its initial race outings was at Sacramento on May 15, where it ran 8.19 at 192.2 mph. The next week at Sacramento, it turned a very promising 7.83. On June 6, they removed the streamlined body and ran 193.12 mph. Don Agree took over the helm on June 13 and ran 199.54 mph. The next week at Sacramento, he took a TE win with 8.30.
