Notes: Photo from Columbus 1988. Finished #5 in 1988. Low qualifier at Gatornationals at 5.154. Also 5.09 at Indy, 283.55 at Gainesville. | The Miller American cars were owned by Dick LaHaie, not Larry Minor. Larry had the sponsorship deal and got Dick to run his car under the colors while Minor raced his own (ex Gary Beck) car and the funny cars. - Dick LaHaie, Racin & Rockin Radio, 2/24/14 | Dick started the '88 season by winning the Super Bowl of Drag Racing event at Firebird Raceway in January He qualified #1 in the eight-car field with a 5.22. In round one he set Low ET of the meet with a 5.17 at 269 to beat Dennis Forcelle. A semifinal 5.23/271.90 beat a tire smoking Gary Ormsby and advanced him into the final against Joe Amato. In the final, Amato broke and LaHaie ran 5.24/272.72 for the victory. He followed that up by winning the NHRA Winternationals at Pomona. A 5.19 qualified #3. He beat Dan Pastorini in round one, and a 5.24/276 took care of Frank Bradley i round two. In the semifinals he had a close race with Eddie Hill as Dick's 5.21/276 beat Eddie's 5.22/284. In the final he met Amato again, and once again it was the same results. Dick got the victory with a 5.13 (Low ET of the meet) at 275. Dick did not run any IHRA events except for the Chief Nationals in October, so his next stop was at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals. A 5.15/282 got him the pole, but in the first round, Hill stepped up to a 5.08/285 to beat his 5.18/283.55. He also lost early at the next NHRA race, the Southern Nationals in Atlanta where he smoked his tires in the second round and lost to Darrell Gwynn. Memphis was the next stop on the NHRA tour for the Mid-South Nationals and Dick's bad luck streak continued. He qualified #4 with a 5.29, but he lost to Forcelle in the first round. Another first-round loss came at the NHRA Cajun Nationals where Gwynn stopped him. Things weren't any better at the NHRA Springnationals where he qualified poorly (#10) and Hill beat him in round one. After early season success, it was a disappointing mid-season, but at the NHRA Grandnationals in Canada, Dick made it into the final. He qualified #4 for the show with a 5.25/272.06. He beat Pastorini in the first round, while in round two his 5.25/269 beat Hector Pickering. In the semifinals a 5.26/270 dropped Gwynn. This put him in the final against Gene Snow. Gene was running his direct drive car and was running extremely well, hitting 5.17 in his semifinal win. So in the final Snow had the edge and he held it with a 5.19 beating LaHaie's 5.23. At Englishtown he qualified #5 with a 5.24/273.63. He beat Jack Ostrander in the first round, but a 5.33/265 in round two lost to Hill's 5.27/270. The next stop was at Seattle for NHRA's Seafair Nationals. Dick ran a great 5.10 at 279.76 to qualify #3, but in the first round, he went into a wheelstand and shut off, losing to Hill. At the NHRA Winston All-Stars event, he again qualified #3 and again lost in the first round, this time to eventual winner Snow. He made it into another final round at Sears Point for the NHRA California Nationals. LaHaie qualified #2 with a 5.20/272.89 and he beat Tim Morgan in the first round, while in round two a 5.27/271 beat Glenn Mikres. In the semifinals, his 5.30 beat a tire-hazing Frank Hawley and advanced him into the final with Amato. The two had a close race, but Joe's 5.17/274 beat Dick's 5.18/272. |

Notes: Allen started his season at Irwindale's Grand Premiere in January. His 6.51 qualified #7 in the sixteen-car field. He improved to 6.37 in round one, to beat Dwight Salisbury's 6.71, but in round two, he was a little late of the line, and his 6.52 lost to Don Moody's 6.53. He went to Pomona for the rain-delayed (twice) NHRA Winternationals. Traction was not there as his 7.145/221.67 qualified #19 in the 32 car field. Unfortunately, he lost to Steve Carbone in the first round, 6.81/222 to 7.140/208.33. At the Bakersfield March Meet, he qualified #23, but he had to shut down with a bad magneto in the first round. Jeb was at Seattle in April for the Northwest Open. He ran well, going 6.31 in round one, and 6.16/238.09 (Top Speed) in round two over Herm Petersen. In the semifinals, he beat Gaines Markley with a 6.15. He faced Don Moody in the final. Don had set Low ET at 6.13, so the final was close. Allen's final round 6.31/233.16 finished runner-up to Moody's 6.28. Shortly after this, he won the Las Vegas Open. It was an eight-car field, and Jeb beat a tire-smoking Dave Russell in the semifinals with a 6.64. In the final, his 6.51/222.22 (Top Speed) beat Dwight Salisbury's 6.56 for the victory. In June, Allen was at Englishtown for a best of three match race against Clayton Harris. Jeb reset both ends of the track record in his first race over Clayton, running 6.16/240.64. He went on to win the match three straight with runs of 6.29/234.98 and a shutoff 7.10/209.79 when Harris fouled. He had an interesting outing at the NHRA Springnationals. There he qualified #12 with a 6.471/227.84. He beat Dale Funk's 6.62/222 in the first round, with a 6.495/220.58, and in round two, it seemed as if Jeb was on his way into the semifinals when he got the win light with a 6.706/221 (231?) over Marvin Schwartz' 6.790. But after their race, Marvin claimed that he had won, so a local TV station was filming the race by chance, and they reviewed it. Sure enough, Schwartz had led Allen through the beams, and he was awarded the win. Allen was at Maple Grove for the third NHRA Division One race near the end of June. He set Low ET and Top Speed in qualifying #1 for the eight-car field with a 6.28/231.95. His 6.73/152.80 advanced when Grant Stoms fouled in the opening round. But he failed to show on time for his semifinal race against Flip Schofield. On July 1st, he was at Denver, Colorado, for the Olympia National Open. It was an eight-car show, and in round one, his 6.84/209 advanced when Chip Woodall broke a fuel pump. But in the semifinals, his 7.04/161.29 fell to eventual winner Dan Richins' 6.77/194. At the NHRA Summernationals, he qualified #2 with a 6.149/237.86 behind Bill Wigginton's 6.03/238 in the "Candies and Hughes" car. A first-round 6.309/222.77 beat Tom Raley's 6.66, but he smoked the tires in round two and lost to Schwartz. Jeb qualified #3 at NHRA Grandnatinal Molson with a 6.312 (no speed recorded). In round one, he beat Terry Capp, 6.428/203.61 to 6.50/208, and beat a fouling Wigginton in round two (no times for either racer). Then it was Jeb's turn to foul in the final, handing the win to Pat Dakin at 6.29/226. John Wiebe hit Jeb at National Challenge 73, and both cars wrecked. He suffered burns on his hands. Jeb ran 6.338 at Tulsa National Challenge 73. |

Notes: Kenny started the '91 season by qualifying #5 at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 5.01/289.76 (Top Speed of the Meet). Unfortunately, he lost to Frank Hawley in the first round. He didn't qualify all that well at the NHRA Arizona Nationals, where his 5.10/284.72 got him the #11 spot in the field. He did well, though, making the best of it. In the semifinals, he ran 4.99/288.18 (Top Speed) to beat Joe Amato's quicker 4.96/281. In the final, opponent Craig Smith broke, and Kenny ran 5.01/287.63 for the victory. He doubled it up by winning NHRA's next race as well, the Supernationals at Houston. There he qualified #2 with a 4.94/290.97. Another 4.94 at 285.71 beat Tom McEwen's 4.99/278 in round two while a 4.97/289.11 beat Jim Head's 5.01/260 in the semifinals. He won his second race in a row with a final round of 4.95/291.54 (Top Speed and a new track record) over Gene Snow's ailing car. Bernstein then went to Darlington for the IHRA Winternationals and won that, too. It was an eight-car show, and Kenny took the pole with a 5.22/271.65 (Top Speed). A first-round 5.25/269.02 beat Doug Herbert, while in the semifinals, he beat Pat Dakin with a 5.22/269. He met Tommy Johnson Jr. in the final, and his Low ET of the meet 5.20 at 270.53 beat Johnson's 5.50. His winning streak came to an end at the NHRA Gatornationals. He set a new track speed record in qualifying with a 4.94/289.57. The ET gave him the #3 spot in the field. He looked like he was on his way to another victory when he beat Cruz Pedregon in the first round, with a 4.99/286.07. A round two 5.06/284.53 beat Frank Bradley, but in the semifinals, Amato's 5.01/275 beat his 5.06/282.92. At the non-points NHRA Winston Invitational at Rockingham, Bernstein qualified #4 in the eight-car show with a 5.06/279.85. He fouled against Lori Johns in the first round. This year, it was the first time that Kenny had not set the meet's Top Speed. NHRA's next stop was at Atlanta for the Southern Nationals. A 4.96/287.72 qualified the "Budweiser King" in the #3 spot. A 4.97 in round one beat Dick LaHaie, while a 5.05/277 beat Dakin's 5.09 in round two. In the semifinals, he ran Don Prudhomme and Kenny's 5.03/285 beat the "Snake's" 5.14. Bernstein scored another win when final-round opponent Snow lost an engine. Kenny's 5.04/282.75 won his third NHRA race in five events. ET and speed confirmed by Jim Hawkins' DragStats. Also, 4.96 from Bakersfield testing and 289.57 from Gainesville 3/91. The sixteenth and final member of the Cragar 4-Second Club for Top Fuel on 2/24/91, with a 4.996 (288.18) at NHRA Phoenix. |

Notes: 1981 was also a very good year for Marvin during which he again won the NHRA Grand Nationals, and won the IHRA Pro-Am Nationals, the IHRA season finals race, the Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Medford, Oregon, points races, and was runner-up at the NHRA Pomona Winternationals and Golden Gate Nationals. Marvin finished fourth in the NHRA points championship. he ran 250.00 (in 5.633 seconds) at Fremont on October 4, 1981, to become the 12th entry into the NHRA 250 MPH Club for Top Fuel. The team was always among the quickest and fastest cars at each event. | At the season-opening NHRA Winternationals at Pomona, only two cars qualified that did not run a five-second time. Graham was one of them, qualifying #15 for the show with a 6.01/240.64. A first-round 6.08 beat an off-pace Gary Beck (6.43) in the first round, and in round two, he improved to 5.92/243.90 to beat a wheelstanding Shirley Muldowney. In the semifinals, his 5.96 beat Richard Tharp's 6.03 in the "Candies and Hughes" car. This set up a final-round meeting with Jeb Allen. Allen had been running steady 5.8s, but he had been burning a lot of pistons doing it. In the final, Marvin's 6.01/236.22 finished second best to Allen's slowest run of eliminations, a 5.92/229. Still, it was a good run for Graham considering he almost didn't qualify. The Bakersfield March Meet was his next stop where he qualified #10 with a 6.03/226.70. He surprised #2 qualifier, Terry Capp, in the first round, when he beat him with a 5.95/240.00. In round two, Marvin improved to 5.87/242.58 while beating John Kimble. But at the top end, a wing strut came loose and the wing flew off the car. The dragster unloaded and the rear wheels spun, causing the rear end to blow. This kept Graham from running Doug Kerhulas in the semifinals. The following week (March 15), he was in Florida for NHRA Gatornationals. He used a 5.744/246.57 to qualify #2 behind Allen's 5.62. But an off-pace 6.25/201.79 in the first round, lost to Dave Settles' 6.02/216. It was then off to Darlington for the IHRA Winternationals. He qualified for the eight-car field with a 6.15/222 which placed him on the "bump." But after qualifying, it rained and the meet was postponed a week. Marvin was unable to return for the rain date on March 28. On April 5, he was competing at the NHRA Western Regional Opener at Green Valley Raceway. A 6.28/222.22 qualified #4 in the eight-car show and in round one, his tire-smoking 6.78/226.70 beat Dale Wilch's Chevy-powered car at 7.09/199. Graham smoked the tires again in the semifinals and lost to Beck. Atlanta was Marvin's next stop for the NHRA Southern Nationals. It was a tough eight-car field to break into, taking a 5.87 just to qualify. Graham's 5.82 qualified #2, but he lost to Allen in the first round. He got a victory at the IHRA Pro-Am Championships on May 3. His 5.81/238.72 qualified #1, and he beat Bobby Hilton in the first round, with a 5.79/239.36. In the semifinals, his 5.82 stopped Allen's 5.89, putting him into the final against the upstart, Mark Oswald. It was a close race that saw Marvin win with a 5.84/238.09 over Mark's 5.85/246. Yet after that victory, he failed to qualify a week later (May 9) at OCIR for the NHRA Western Regional where his 6.22 was the first alternate for the eight-car show. He then went to Bristol for the IHRA Springnationals where he qualified on the pole with a 5.77 (Low ET) at 237. The run came at a cost as he hurt some parts and was unable to run in eliminations. Marvin's best NHRA national event times came at Fremont, where he ran the great 5.633/250.00 in eliminations. |

Notes: Photo from Indy 1981. | Tharp started the '81 season by qualifying #13 with a 5.97/236.84 at the NHRA Winternationals. Despite the relatively poor starting position, Richard picked up to a first-round 5.78 (Low ET) at 245 over Gary Cornwall's 5.92/238. A second round 5.83/243 beat low qualifier Jerry Ruth's 5.95/240. Tharp slipped to a 6.03 in the semifinal that lost to Marvin Graham's 5.96. At the next event, the NHRA Gatornationals, on March 15, Richard's 5.82/240.64 qualified #7. A first-round 5.91/243.24 beat Terry Capp, but Jody Smart's 5.87/245 beat his 5.91/243.90 in round two. The following week (March 22), the Candies and Hughes team was at Darlington for the IHRA Winternationals. A 6.03/230 qualified #6 in the eight-car field. Tharp picked up to a 5.95/237 in the first round, to beat a wheelstanding Don Garlits. In the semifinal, a 5.97/232 beat Dick LaHaie and in the final, he soloed to the victory when Smart's car broke on the line. Tharp was definitely not happy when their best of 5.97 failed to qualify for the eight-car show in Atlanta for the NHRA Southern Nationals. On May 17, Tharp was runner-up to Jeb Allen at Bristol for the IHRA Springnationals. He qualified #3 with a 5.85 and a first-round 6.06 beat alternate Richard Holcomb. He ran another 6.06 in the semifinals to beat Butch Osmon's quicker 6.01 in the Jim and Allison Lee car. But in the final, a tire smoking 11.91/53.41 lost to Allen's 5.99/248. It was strange to see the Candies and Hughes fueler on the bump, but that's where they were at State Capitol Dragway for the NHRA Cajun Nationals on May 24. A 5.97/245.90 got them the #8 spot in the eight-car field. Tharp's 6.01 in the first round, advanced when Gary Beck fouled. But in round two, a tire smoking 6.27/231.36 lost to Allen's 6.02/243. Things were worse at Columbus for the NHRA Springnationals when Tharp's best of 6.07/232.55 was good for the fifth alternate. There was a bit of irony in the team's next win. It came at the IHRA Northern Nationals and Tharp beat Mark Oswald for the title. In the thin air of Denver for the NHRA Mile High Nationals in July, Richard ran a 5.94/241.28 to qualify #2. Unfortunately, Doug Kerhulas stepped up to a 5.99 in the first round, to beat Tharp's 6.03. The Candies and Hughes team always ran well at the NHRA Summernationals and in '81 they stayed true go qualifying #2 with a 5.76/246.57. A first-round 5.86/246.57 beat Frank Bradley, but in round two, Oswald (that name again) beat Tharp's 5.92/243 with a 5.90/243. Richard was running some big speeds at Bristol for the IHRA Summernationals. During qualifying, he set Top Speed at 249.30. He beat Connie Kalitta's 6.03/231 in the first round, with a 5.83/247.93. In the semifinals, he overpowered the track and smoked the tires to a 6.05/245.90 loss to Beck's 5.83/236. The team looked like they were on their way to a win at the NHRA Grandnationals in Canada. A 5.88/242.58 only qualified #6 in the eight-car field, but a first-round 6.04/243.90 beat Kalitta. In the semifinals, Tharp set track records of 5.74/250.00 on a solo pass when Johnny Abbott couldn't show. But in the final, his KB engine threw a blower belt, giving Marvin Graham an easy 7.08 pass for the win. |

Notes: Photo from 81 US Nationals. 250.00 run at Indy on September. 6, 1981, was the 9th entry into the NHRA 250 MPH Club for Top Fuel. Confirmed 5.947 from Gainesville 3/81. | Failed to qualify at the NHRA Winternationals, but rebounded nicely by qualifying #2 at Famoso for the Bakersfield March Meet with a 5.90/237.46. Unfortunately, he smoked the tires in the first round, and lost to Marvin Graham's 5.95/240. He then went to Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals, where a 5.94/226.13 qualified #15, but in the first round, Richard Tharp's 5.91 beat Terry's off pace 6.66/161.29. At the next NHRA event, the Southern Nationals on April 26, a 5.84 qualified #5. He advanced past the first-round with a 5.99/220.04 when low qualifier Mike Tarter fouled. In the semifinal, Jody Smart broke and Terry advanced to the final with a 6.01/234.98. In the final, he ran a quicker 5.91/238.72, but lost to Shirley Muldowney's 5.95/239.36. He followed that finish with another runner-up spot at the next NHRA event, the Cajun Nationals on May 24. There, he qualified #3 with a 5.88 and ran a 6.09 in the first round, to get past a blower-popping Tony Ceraolo. In the semi's, a 6.06 beat Smart's 6.11. But in the finals, Capp had problems and slowed to a 7.15 and Jeb Allen won with a 6.11/233. He made another good showing at the NHRA Springnationals in June. He qualified #5 with a 5.92/239.99 and beat Connie Kalitta in the first round, with a 5.98/219. In round two another 5.98/238 beat Mark Oswald (6.02/239). But in the semifinal, Gary Beck stopped him with a 6.11/220. He ran at the NHRA Mile High Nationals on July 4 where he qualified #5 with a 6.03/238.72, but he lost to Allen in the first round. AT the NHRA Summernationals, he qualified #12 with a 5.86/239.99. A first-round 6.03/233.76 advanced when Kalitta fouled. A second round 6.02/233.76 got past a tire-smoking Graham, but in the semifinals, it was he who smoked the tires to a 15.52/50.30 loss to Mark Oswald's 5.99/238. In August, he ran in Canada at the NHRA Grandnationals at Sanair, but a best of 5.95/237.46 left him outside (#3 alternate) in the qualified eight-car field. Terry made up for not making the show at the next NHRA event, the US Nationals. There 46 cars tried for the sixteen-car field and he qualified #5 with a 5.72 and made it all the way to the semifinals where despite a quicker 5.80 he lost to eventual winner Johnny Abbott's 5.84. It was then on to Fremont for the NHRA Golden Gate Nationals. Another great run of 5.73/230.17 qualified #5. He beat Lucille Lee's 6.40 in the first round, with a 5.88/235.60, but in the second round, a 5.83 by Tharp ended Capp's chance for the win. He went to OCIR with high hopes for the final race of the season the NHRA World Finals. A disappointing 5.91/234.98 left him out of the show and was #3 alternate. |

Notes: David qualified #14 at the NHRA Gatornationals with a 5.940/230.17. He beat Mike Tarter in the first round, with a 6.085/229.59, but in round two, his 6.273/216.86 lost to Dave Settles' 5.89/225. He failed to qualify (first alternate) for the eight-car field at the NHRA Western Regional at Green Valley, but he got in when Keith Craig was unable to run. Pace faced Gary Beck in the first round, but his tire-smoking 6.64/224.43 lost to Beck's 6.21/219. In May, at the NHRA Cajun Nationals, David set Low ET and Top Speed in qualifying #1 with a 5.800/247.93. In the first round, he slowed to 6.16/233.16 and lost to Jody Smart's 5.91/243. David qualified #8 at the Springnationals with a 5.936/243.24 and beat Jim Barnard in round one, 6.134/236.84 to 6.19/231. He set Top Speed of the Meet at 5.921/247.93 over Shirley Muldowney's close, holeshot-aided 5.964/244.56 (.001 seconds margin of victory - about four INCHES at the stripe)! In round three, David slowed to a 6.331/212.76, and Butch Osmon advanced at 6.12/209. David qualified #4 at Denver with a 6.000/237.46. He beat Rob Bruins in round one, 6.012/238.09 to 6.11/239.99, and drove around a Doug Kernulas holeshot in round two, 5.994/238.09 to a close 6.050/241.93 (.007 seconds - a little over two feet). He slipped to a 7.43 in the final, and Jeb Allen got the win at 5.94/243. David qualified #6 at Indy with his best ET of the year, 5.731/246.57. In round one, he beat a fouling Frank Bradley, coasting to a 9.51. In round two, he blasted a 5.887/250.00 to beat Dwight Salisbury at 6.20/176. David's 250.00 run at Indy on September 7, 1981, was the 11th entry in the NHRA 250 MPH Club for Top Fuel. He beat Connie Kalitta in the semis, 6.59/145, when Connie could not fire. In the final, he fouled and coasted to a 7.67, while winner Johnny Abbott also coasted through to a 10-second win. David qualified #5 at the World Final at Orange County with a nice 5.747/246.57. However, Shirley Muldowney surprised him with a holeshot and a better ET in round one, taking a 5.88/243 to 5.901/236.22 victory. AKA The Texas Whips. Photo from Gainesville 1981. |

Notes: Photo from Bakersfield, CA, in March 1966. Drag Sport Illustrated "1965 Wrap Up" cited consistent 1965 times of 7.60/205. | Ran 7.766/200.88 at Lions Drag Strip AHRA Nationals 65. | The team started the season at Fontana for a UDRA race on January 2. Sorokin lost to Herb Ries' 7.75/195 in the first round, with a 7.80/191.08. They ran again the next day (Sunday) and this time a 7.91/191.08 beat a wheelstanding Steve Porter who shut off. In round two an 8.16/147.78 advanced when Ron Hampshire lost fire in Sid Waterman's car, but a 7.81/190.66 in the semifinals was unable to stop eventual winner Danny Ongais' 7.72/196. Mike was at Lions for an eight-car show on January 16. His best of 7.93/196.50 failed to qualify, but he got into the show when the "Ward and Warye" dragster broke. In the first round, opponent Bobby Tapia lost fire and Sorokin advanced with an 8.15/190.26. Unfortunately, in the semifinals, he fouled against eventual winner Larry Faust. The next day (January 17), he was at Fontana where he qualified #1 with a 7.89/193.54, but on that run, the motor blew in the lights and the team was unable to run eliminations. It was interesting to know that that was the 389th run on that engine. The team was at Fontana once again on January 31 where he beat Nando Haase in the opening round with an 8.05/187.50. A second round 7.78/194.80 beat "Crower & Blair", but in the semifinals, the car failed to fire against Larry Faust. On February 14, they were back at Fontana for a sixteen-car show. Mike ran 7.88 to qualify and then improved to a 7.71=198.22 in the first round, to beat Dave Crower's 8.12/192 in the "Crower and Blair" car. In round two, a 7.78 beat Dave Babler's 8.07 and in the semifinals, a career best (to this point) 7.69 beat James Warren's ailing Chevy at 8.27/149. In the final he met Nick Marshall, but Sorokin's blower went south on the line and Nick soloed for the win. The next stop was at the Bakersfield March Meet. The team qualified #17 in the 64 car field with a 7.79/201.78. They didn't make the finals or dominate like they would in '66, but they ran well. They were back at their "home track"(Fontana) on March 14 for a sixteen-car show. Mike ran 200.88 in qualifying, but the car broke against Dan Brechtal in the first round. On April 17, Fontana held a sixteen-car show and Sorokin qualified with a 7.79. Problems set in the first round, and the car broke on the line giving opponent, Haase an easy run into the second round. The next day (April 18), they were at San Fernando. Mike set Low ET in qualifying for the eight-car field with a 7.85. But a sleepy 7.94/201.36 in the first round, lost to Gary Cassady's 8.08/191. Things went better on May 8 when a 7.89/194.38 qualified for the show at Fontana. Mike made it into the final before losing to Haase. On May 29, Fontana hosted the UDRA Memorial Day Championships, of course the "Surfers" were there. Over 40 cars attempted to qualify for the sixteen available slots. Mike qualified and easily won his first-round race while in round two he beat a motor-blowing Don Prudhomme in the "Hawaiian" with a 7.69/203.60. In the semifinals, his 7.85/202.70 lost to Mike Snively's 7.67/197 in Ed Pink's "Old Master.” The following day (Sunday, May 30), they ran them again. Mike beat Paul Sutherland in the opening round with a 7.83/202.70, but he lost in round two. In June, Fontana held a best of three match race between Prudhomme and the "Surfers." It was a good match with the "Snake" winning the first race with a 7.56/207 over Mike's 7.78/202.30. Sorokin came back to win the second race with a 7.64/204.08 over Don's 7.84/190. But in the deciding race, Prudhomme set a 7.46 (track record) at 206 to win the match over Mike's 7.77/203.60. National Dragster (Dec 24/1965) had an article on this car with the team claiming a best of 7.55/208 up until that time. - Ron Howard |
