Notes: Steve Swaja designed. The streamliner was active through late spring 1965, often match racing other streamliners. By July, TI was touring with a conventional car. It was definitely not the Video Liner Runner-up at Indy. It went 194.80 at Lions (spring 1965); Ivo debuted this streamliner at Fremont on Mar. 15, turning 8.24 at 192.30 mph. Five days later, he ran at Lions without the body shell, turning 8.39 at 194.80 mph. A week later, running with the body back on at Lions, he turned 8.90 at 183.66 mph. He appeared at Puyallup International Dragway on Apr. 10. At Lions on Apr. 17, he turned 8.11 at 193.96 mph. He ran at Fontana on May 1, turning 8.03 at 192.30 mph. He then focused his attention on preparing for a national tour and parked the streamliner. Photo: George Klass Collection - MB |

Notes: The car's first public appearances were at car shows in Sacramento and Oakland. It also made a non-competing appearance at the March Meet. But one of its initial race outings was at Sacramento on May 15, where it ran 8.19 at 192.2 mph. The next week at Sacramento, it turned a very promising 7.83. On June 6, they removed the streamlined body and ran 193.12 mph. Don Agree took over the helm on June 13 and ran 199.54 mph. The next week at Sacramento, he took a TE win with 8.30. Notes: King was at Fontana on January 2 for the sixteen-car UDRA race. His 8.15/191.48 lost to Nick Marshall's 7.84/195 in the first round. He was at Lions on January 16. Unfortunately, his 7.94/197.36 failed to qualify for the eight-car field's 7.93 "bump." In mid-February, he was at Lions for a sixteen car show. His 7.85/191.08 qualified #4. In the first round, he went into a wheelstand and shut down against Pete Petrie. Shortly after that, he was back at Lions for the UDRA Grandnationals. In the opening round, his tire-smoking 8.41/195.64 beat Tom McEwen who had his magneto go sour. In the second round, his 8.22/198.66 beat Jack Williams; 8.37/193. He lost in the next round. |

Notes: This was the last season that the little Chevy-powered cars stood a chance against the Chryslers. New tires had knocked the cars out of contention now that the Hemis could hook up. Slippery tracks gave the cars a bit of a chance. Regals in the "A&B Speed Shop" car held out well. The unblown car qualified well in some big shows. On March 14, he qualified for a sixteen-car show at Fontana with an 8.13. Unfortunately, the little Chevy failed to fire in the first round against Bob Downey in the "A&W Root Beer" car. The following week (March 21), he was at San Fernando for an eight-car show. His 8.48/185.84 failed to qualify for the field with an 8.42 "bump." Regals faced off against Bob Harrop's Coronet on June 12 at Cecil County for a best-of-three match. The Dodge got a running start in their first race and won with an 8.18/137 to Regals' 8.23/177. After that, Harrop was given a two-second hard start, and Bernie came from behind and won both races with times of 8.32/177 and 8.34/176. Photo from Bakersfield, March 1966. |

Notes: Casady was at San Fernando on April 18 for an eight-car show. His 8.16 qualified #7. In the first round, the little Chevy's 8.08/191.49 upset Mike Sorokin's quicker 7.94/201 in the "Surfers" car. In the second round, he got out on Gary Southern, and his 8.18/190.26 held on to win over Southern's much-better,7.85/204. He faced Rick Stewart in the final, and he tried to cut another good light, but he ended up fouling and slowing to 10.08 in a runner-up finish to Steward, who backed off to 10.06 for the win. Gary qualified the 400 Jr. #4 with a 7.89 at Fontana in June. Unfortunately, he had problems and lost in the first round to Swanson and Huerta's 8.60 Pontiac. |

Notes: Jack started the '65 season in this car at Riverside for the KFWB Drag Festival on January 1. He set Low ET of the meet while qualifying #1 with a 7.87/196.06. An 8.16/149.50 advanced past the first-round when Danny Ongais fouled away a 7.99/193 against him. In the semifinals, his 8.13/194.80 beat Rick Stewart's early shut off 8.24/124. He got the win in the final by beating Bob Tapia with a 7.99/195.22. It was a great way to start the new year. The following day, he was at Fontana for the UDRA race held there. Unfortunately, his first-round 8.22/159.29 lost to Kenny Safford's 7.98/194. - RH; Photo: being pushed back after making a qualifying run at 8.23, 184.80 at '65 Hot Rod Magazine Championships, Riverside - MB |

Notes: Richard Swecker was an auto mechanic who decided to build a Top Fuel dragster. He built the 130" long chassis and installed a 392 Hemi that was bored out to 398. M/T rods held 6:1 Forgedtrue pistons and Isky was chosen for the cam. An Isky drive also was used and the GMC 6/71 had a Hilborn four-port injector on top. A Schiefer 11" clutch was used. On one of the car's early runs, Swecker ran 7.94/196.54. |

Notes: Bale owns the car, Cook owns the engine and drives occasionally. After October-65 engine explosion, Dennis Baca's engine is installed and this car becomes the 'Bale & Baca' entry. |
