Notes: Frederick Garth Hardacre was a longtime crewman of the Arfons brothers who also drove their jet cars. He was killed on May 10/1970, at Pittsburgh International Dragway while driving Art Arfons' Jetvette in a race against Walt Arfons' jet Mustang. He lost control at the top end and hit a steel guardrail. Newspaper accounts say he was turning "about" 250 mph at the time of the accident, so posted time is approximate. - RT |
