Notes: On May 25, Paula Murphy met Lee at Suffolk for a best two out of three match race. Paula won the first race with an 8.55/168 over Lee's ailing Camaro at 12.83/67.16. He beat Paula with an 8.19/175.78 in the second race when she fouled. In the third race, he lost a motor, and Paula won the match race with an 8.03/182 over Lee's slowing 8.85/117.64. On May 31, he showed up at York US 30 for the second Division 1 race. Lee made it into the final before losing to Ed Schartman's 7.83/183 with a 7.92/182. He raced at Capitol's King of King's Funny Car meet on July 16, but a first-round 8.73/178.21 lost to Dick Harrell's 7.98/178. |
