Notes: AKA Super Swinger. Huston drove this car for the first time at Charlotte on November 9. It was the first time he was back in a race car since the spring when he had his accident at Yellow River, where 12 race fans were killed and another 50 were injured. He faced off against Ronnie Runyan in a best-of-three match race at the 1/8 mile Charlotte track. In the first race, his 5.98/163.98 was beaten by Runyan's 5.22/160. He came back to win the second race with a 4.97/173, but in the final, a blown transmission ended his chances for the match race win. All was not lost, however, when Ron fouled on his last pass. Thus, it was deemed a draw. |
