Notes: Kenny failed to make the field at the first two NHRA races of '86, but he did qualify at the Southern Nationals in Atlanta. His 7.68/183.29 was good for the "bump" spot. He lost to Jerry Eckman in the first round. A 7.66/180.07 qualified #13 at Baton Rouge for the Cajun Nationals. His 7.76/178.11 lost to Bruce Allen's 7.65/180 in the first round. At the Springnationals, he qualified #11 with a 7.65/179.82. A first-round 7.80/174.31 lost to Joe Lepone's 7.70/180. He ran at the Super Stock Nationals. It was an eight-car show, and he qualified #4 with a 7.64/180.00. He beat Lee Dean in the first round before losing to Lepone's 7.66/181 in the semifinal with a 7.76/177.51. After qualifying well at the last few events, he was disappointed at the Grandnationals when he only ran a best of 7.86/177.23 that failed to qualify (sixth alternate). He ran much better at Englishtown for the Summernationals, but his 7.610/179.85 (sixth alternate) still failed to make the field. That was his best ET of the year and a fourth alternate 7.625/184.34 at Indy was his best speed. |
