Notes: Recorded on a desert strip, not at an actual drag strip. Went 350 on the 3.22, but was "too fast for the timers to pick it up." Went 312 over 500 meters (1500 feet). (Dave Anderson went faster at 368). Info from newspaper reports. 29-year-old O'Neil was deaf since birth and one of the top stunt persons in the world. A month after this run, she set the all-time record for falling from a height at 112 feet. Kitty also ran 618 in Bill Frederick's Land Speed Record car (on an existing world record of 622) in preparation for setting the LSR. Two major Chicago sponsors did not want a 'lady' doing that and pulled support in lieu of a male driver.
