Notes: This car was found in storage around 2000 as a rolling chassis (never had engine, trans, wiring, fuel system, etc.) This original steel bodied car was originally built in the mid to late 70's, but wasn't finished until Mullin Motor Sports completed the build with help from Easy Street Race Car Fabrication (chassis builders) located in Lock Port Illinois (708) 362/0269, and Romito Race Engines in Frankfort, Illinois (708) 479/7223, plus a lot of help from friends and family. The car runs in the NDRL - IAM (Nostalgia Drag Racing League) Championship Series events in the Mid-West and others such as the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green KY. It has been run at Goodguys events at Indianapolis, Norwalk OH, Joliet IL, at the Muscle Car Reunion at Gateway, and with the Mid-West Gassers at Union Grove WI. It was built with 1969 NHRA Supercharged, Gas class rules in mind and runs a Mooneyham 6:71 Blower with 2 Quick Fuel 850 CFM Alky carbs on a 427 CI small block Chevy/Dart block. The trans in a TH 400 with a Coan break, and the rear axle is a Moser 9 with 4:10 Pro gears. The chassis is 2x3 box with chromemoly 12 point cage, Koni coil overs all around with Alston ladder bars and independent front suspension. Current Sponsors are Quick Fuel Technologies located in Bowling Green KY, Easy Street Race Car Fabrication in Lock Port IL, and Ray Romito Racing Engines in Frankfort IL. |
