Notes: Original S&W Chassis, front half in 1991 by Northeast Race Cars. Pat helped Bill put together this match race combination. Did this car qualify on the bump at Maple Grove one year and go one round? If so, what year was that? One year Pat drove, the car did not qualify at Maple Grove. |

Notes: This quarter-mile run at Fremont - at 6.99 claimed to be the first six-second time ever cut - was Leasher's first time in the car, per article in May 5/1962, issue of Drag News. "Just wait until we get to Bonneville," was a phrase heard frequently in the ecstatic Palamides pits, according to the article's author. Four months later, Leasher was killed in a spectacular accident at Bonneville while piloting another Palamides racecar, the Infinity LSR machine. - RT |

Notes: The 25-year-old racer set a new track record and new personal best at 6.22/255.68 at Napierville, Quebec, on May 7, 1977. He died at Englishtown on June 15, 1977. When he deployed the first chute, it broke the attachment ring. Since both chutes were on that same ring, the second chute was useless. This led to a rule change making separate attachments for dual chutes on any type of car. - NH |

Notes: Injected fuel. Jungle Jim's first funny car. Have read that this had a 426 Dodge Hemi in it, 427 on the fender would indicate otherwise. - Dennis Doubleday | Dennis is right, that had to be a Chevy. Direct drive in '65? NO WAY. A Torqueflite most likely, possibly a turbo hydro. A bucks down guy like Liberman would have gone with a proven Torqueflite. No direct drive for an injected car then. Only tire smokers like Chrisman and Garlits' Dart were direct drive. - Norman Hechtkoff |

Notes: Wheelstanding photo garnered the prized centerspread spot in 2/67 issue of Super Stock & Drag Illustrated; the brief contents page blurb stated the car was "campaigned by the Crow Brothers of Olympia." - RT | Looks like a steel and glass car, not a lightweight. A mystery car. I'll share what I know, but it ain't much. It was built by Precision Speed for Dick Lewis Pontiac/Cadillac in Olympia, and I know that Bill Crow was the crew chief. According to the manager at Lewis, a Mr. Fields, it was "campaigned for about two years. Other than solo runs, it won a total of ZERO races." It was reasonably popular, and received some ink, including a centerfold in SS&DI. It had an almost 500 ci Pontiac with Hilborn injectors and a Vertex, backed by a Torqueflite. I believe I saw it run a 10.40/135 at Puyallup. Beyond that, I know nothing, other than the car still exists and is being restored. - Phil Elliot | Car was for sale in 1967.
