Notes: Early hemi/TorqueFlite combo. Gallagher's first funny car; it was eventually sold to Delaware's Bill McDuell who ran it as She-Devil II. - RT |

Notes: Won first national event with rear-engine car in 1970. Woody asked me if I wanted a front engine or rear-engine dragster, and I told him I wanted a rear-engine. It had a lot of bugs that we had to fix by trial and error. Nobody could help me because nobody knew anything about running one of these. After Garlits got hurt at Lions, Marvin Schwartz raced his car for him. I raced Marvin in Garlits car at Detroit and beat them. I also won the AHRA Summernationals at Long Island, NY, that same year. Don came over and went over the car with a fine toothed comb; he sat in it and everything. The rear end was a little over-engineered, so I was going to have the Logghe Bros. back half it and continue, but I got the offer to run the Trader Ray Mustang and make a little money, so I sold the car instead. The best in the rear-engine car was 6.63 at about 223/224. - Dwane Ong, Racin & Rockin with Draglist.com radio show, 6/08/15 | Previously listed 6.835/219.51 in this car. | After I won the AHRA Summer Nats, I sold the car to a guy from Garden City, Michigan. He supposedly crashed on the east coast, but no one knows for sure. - Dwane Ong, Racin & Rockin Radio-12/07/15 |
