Notes: One of the better-known Turbonique-powered cars. Rauth & Venetti later ran a similarly powered Cougar funny car, also called Pegasus. - RT | Thompson was his hometown, and the rest of our very small family. There is a photo of him in California that Hot Rod magazine did a small write up on call "truth is stranger than fiction", they said he was running 8's. He ran all over the US just to hit that green, button again. - Mark Rauth (nephew) (Hot Rod Magazine) |

Notes: After previously running the Turbonique-powered Pegasus Mustang, Ohio's Rauth & Venetti moved to a twin-Turbonique-motivated tube-frame Cougar funny car; it retained the Pegasus name. At some point they reverted to a single propulsion unit. Amazingly the car survived destruction - unlike most of its brethren - and recently resurfaced as a somewhat corroded by totally intact barn find, complete down to the vintage Turbonique drag axle. - RT |
