Notes: Runner-Up in first race at Tulsa ever for Osborn, Midwest Top Gas Circuit. Won Midwest Gas Dragster Championship in Omaha in 1969. Ran 7.74 at Indy Nationals and 7.57 at NHRA World Finals (Dallas) 1969. Bill Beaman was the chassis builder. He was a local Tulsa guy who now, I believe, lives somewhere in Missouri. Even though the cars were being built in his home garage, his construction techniques and welding skills were first-class. It's a shame he didn't pursue it full-time: he could have become as noted as Woody Gilmore, Don Long, and some of the other major chassis builders of the period. Creitz & Greer and Moritz & McClintock were some of the others he built cars for. John Osborn died in a funny car crash in 1978, driving for Dick Moritz.
