Notes: Gould was an avid collector of the Ford SOHC engines as he bought up as many as he could. He liked to run the engine in competition but was finding himself at a crossroads as, by now, the engines were prized by collectors and worth a lot. These engines were never cheap to run on fuel. Blowing them up at the dragstrip was never fun, but now it was even more costly. Larry was in St. Louis in June for the AHRA Gateway Nationals. He qualified on the "bump" for the eight-car field with a 6.96/221.68. In the first round, his 6.51/221.68 lost to John Collins' quicker-leaving 6.56/210. Larry also ran 6.54/215 at the AHRA Grandnationals. |

Notes: Former "Chi-Town Hustler" 77/78 ride. Motry was one of five FC drivers that showed up at Indianapolis in April for the NHRA Division Three opener. His 7.36/196.93 qualified #4, and in round one, the car broke against Murf McKinney. Tom was at Martin, Michigan, for the PHR Championships in August. He qualified on the "bump" for the eight-car field with a 6.32/227.84. That was the last pass the car would make as his parachute failed, and he went off the end of the track and rolled the car. He was OK, but the car was not. |

Notes: This former McEwen car was sold to Dick Moritz, Jamie Hopheimer/Whit Bazemore, Donnie Holbrook, and Troy Ray. | White was at Baton Rouge on May 29 for the NHRA Cajun Nationals. It was only an eight-car show, and sixteen cars were attempting to qualify. His 6.39/223.88 best failed to crack the 6.08 bump. Jim was at St. Louis in June for the AHRA Gateway Nationals. He qualified eighth in the eight-car show with a 6.50/214.80. He lost to John Force in the first round. At Indy ran 6.59 on 5.91 and 5.97 231.95 on Saturday. |
