Notes: This 1969 Nova was the Jungle Jim funny car that Clare Sanders drove to the first Funny Car eliminator class win at the 1969 Winter Nationals. The car ran a best time of 8.68 at 153.84 mph at Maple Grove Dragway as The Red Baron B/A on 10/23/77. The car has been restored to the original Jungle Jim funny car and is located at the World of Speed Museum in Wilsonville, Oregon. Neal Hinkle is a 2015 inductee into the Drag Race Hall of Fame.com and a 2016 Legion of Honor award recipient from the York US 30 Heritage Days at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing. | Don Hinkle, son of Neal Hinkle. Found by Norman Hechtkoff. Originally restored by Mike Guffey of IN. Was campaigned very successfully by Gene Altizer. Times and info from National Dragster, 11/25/75.
