Notes: Cowdrey's ultra-hairy lime-green combo boasted a blown 327 Chev, B&M Hydrostick in a 92-inch wheelbase tube frame. The front fenders, hood, doors were fiberglass. The remaining shell (such as there was) was steel. Built to compete in AAM, SP, the car occasionally ran as a BB/A. Cowdrey went on to race a pair of early 392-powered Chevrolet funnies in the latter half of the decade. He competes in historic, vintage sports car races to this day. There was a two-page photo feature on this car in the 8/66 Car Craft. |
