Notes: Bob was at Lexington, Kentucky, on October 14, where he was to make three exhibition passes. The car broke a blower belt in the first run, and that was followed by a 10.27/150.25. The ET was a new best for the car up until this time. On the last pass, he ran 10.57/140. | This virtually stock, all steel 1965 Barracuda "Funny Car" blazed a winning trail from coast to coast. Weighing in at 3,700 lbs. with direct drive, no transmission, and a Blown Chrysler 392 C. I. 100% Nitro Hemi, "Pandemonium V" achieved 160 mph and 9.78 ET in 1965. This car was built by Sullivan using the engine combination out of his fuel dragster. Photo from 1965 Nationals. It was updated in 1966 with new body panels. It survives, has been cage upgraded for NHRA legal racing, and is owned by Greg Sullivan. Flopper shoe Cory Lee is the pilot when it makes occasional appearances. - Geoff Stunkard |
