Notes: This car made its debut in the fall of 1972 and was Hemi powered when it ran its best numbers at Ontario Motor Speedway during the 1972 NHRA Supernationals. Larry qualified fifteenth at 6.260/223.82, but mechanical difficulties kept him from making the first-round match-up with eventual race winner Don Moody. Although disappointed in not making the first-round Larry and the "Real Don Steele" crew were happy to accept the "Best Appearing Car" award from the NHRA. Don Steele was a TV, Radio personality in Southern California. /Team also made some runs with an Arias hemi-head Chevy engine. |
