Notes: In mid-April, Bobby was at Lassiter, Alabama, for a best-of-three-match race against Hubert Platt, who was driving Larry Coleman's Mustang. In their first race, the Chevelle went into a huge wheelstand that ended up bending an axle and putting the car out of competition. Woods was at Bristol on June 11 for the NHRA Springnationals. In the opening round of eliminations, his 8.59/174.09 beat Mel Perry's 9.18/150. But he slowed to 9.39/103 in round two, and that wasn't enough to beat Maynard Rupp's 8.30/169 Cougar. Bobby qualified #5 at 8.465/171.10. Real Chevelle. |
