Notes: Rob qualified #5 at Fremont for the NHRA Golden Gate Nationals at 6.032/241.93 (Top Speed). In the opening round of eliminations, his 6.08/234.98 lost to Al Segrini's 6.09/234. At OCIR, for the NHRA World Finals, he ran 6.05/239.99 to qualify #7. Many cars burned up at OCIR during the Finals, and the "Assassination" was one of them. Williams blew an engine while defeating Hank Johnson in round one. The resulting fireball knocked the team out of competition for round two. | I have 5.98 in '81. 5.92/248 in '82. Sorry, don't have locations. - Curt Swartz |
