Re: Old School Drag Racing is Alive and Well...

I believe Old School drag racing is alive in many other parts of the country right now. I sell contingency decals to many racers in the North and South Carolina area who tell me the car counts continue to increase with every show they put on. Rules are simple you must run a car from the 60's only an...

Re: Gibbs is out for 3 grams?

Jack: Your comment: The Carl Long deal was the biggest joke of NASCAR. Too fine a low budget team like that was just plain stupid. As the Hall of Fame. Over 60 years of racing with only 5 per year inducted. I agree with you but NASCAR runs the show and it's their sand box and that's just the way the...

Re: Marvel Mystery Oil????????

I had a 350 that had an intermittent miss that was driving me crazy. I changed the plug wires, spark plugs, vacuum lines, distributor and a few others parts and yet the miss would come back every once in a while. One day a friend who is 88 years old said to me why don't you had a quart of Marvel Mys...

Re: Gibbs is out for 3 grams?

My question would be who built the engine that did not catch this problem and do they still have a job? Guy's were talking about professional engine builders who this every day of every week and write down every weight of every part they use so they have a book on each engine. Anyone think they don'...

Re: Marvel Mystery Oil????????

I had a 350 engine that had an intermittent miss. I started changing out the plugs first then the plug wires and yet the miss was still there every once in a while. I then changed the vacuum lines thinking maybe the spark was jumping around but that was not it either. I then pulled the distributor t...

Looking for the entry list for the 1964 Indy Nationals

I am trying to find a source for a copy of the complete entry list for Indy for 1964 or other years from the 60's Any idea where to look? I have some old copies of the programs from Indy from the late 60's but would really like to find an old entry list per class. Thanks for you help. Jimbo

Just Starting

My name is Jim Hill and I have loved drag racing since the early 60's and always been kind of Car Crazy. I own Nostalgic Racing Decals which started has a hobby about 8 years ago. There is so much history to drag racing and so many great people who became legends along the way that really made drag ...
