Re: Racin' and Rockin'..."JB's Take"

My pick for Racer of the Week is Jill Kollist, from Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. Jill was recommended to me by our friend Michael Baba Balbarino, whose 808_Fuel page has all of Hawaii's information on motorsports. Thanks, Michael! Nurse Jill Kollist loves the thrill of winning in the fast-gas division; her ...

Re: Mr. Goodvibes

I spend several hours a day here by myself...only I know I'm not by myself. Mr. Goodvibes has been raising hell in the upstairs hall. Sometimes he stomps up and down the stairs, but he hasn't been near me in the Shrine to Bad Taste during the day. Stuff gets knocked over. Doors slam. He's letting me...

Re: Racin' and Rockin'..."JB's Take"

Thanks, BP! It's been a great ride! I'm kicking off 2018 with a feature of a vintage Top Fueler, one of my favorites that I've been fortunate to have found. My pick for Racer of the Week is Bob Malone, originally from Houston, Texas, and now residing north of town in Navasota, Texas. Bob was recomme...

Re: The Night Shift... Continues!

I played the gigs, they were good. The old folks' home gig was fun. They loved it. New Year's Eve at the Yacht Club was easy, the place is swanky and all done up first-class and the band played great. Only one thing...nobody got paid, including Pee Wee. It goes back to what I've been saying all alon...

Re: Rise and Shine!

Great story, Gary. Funny how things work out, isn't it?

Coldest day of the year here. Mid-20s last night, low 20s coming up tonight. May it pass quickly.

Hope everybody had a great Christmas! Life is good! WC1

Re: Mr. Goodvibes

I must have disturbed him when I got the Christmas decorations out of the hidden room...activity started up after that...now I have to put it all back and deal with the consequences!

Re: Mr. Goodvibes

Mr. Goodvibes has been knocking stuff over. Twice today...I'm sitting here minding my own business and the presents I just wrapped got knocked over onto the floor...2 feet away from me...just a little while ago I was walking through the kitchen (wife and sister-in-law are preparing a feast) and I wa...

Re: Rise and Shine!

Chamber of Commerce day in Houston today. Wife and her sister are busy shopping at this time but wife scolded me for playing YouTube stuff with Danny and blasting the ball game on the radio at the same time. I tried to tell her it's the only way I can drown out the voices in my head, but she isn't b...

Re: The Night Shift... Continues!

My sister-in-law Lisa is in town for a week, so I'm taking her to a couple of music deals. My friend Terry Rogers (Little Terry and the Bluesbirds) is playing at the Karbach Brewery in SugarLand Wednesday night. I took Lisa to see Terry play a couple of years ago and she loved it. Terry is the real ...

Re: The Night Shift... Continues!

I can't believe it's been 5 years since I posted in here! Well, here's a quick update. I'm still playing in the Pee Wee Bowen Band, we have New Year's Eve at the Lakewood Yacht Club (no band table, no spouses allowed) and then we're off till January 13th. The horn section is a rotating cast half the...
