Sure Jim, that's the whole reason for being so desperate to raise the "doe, rae,me".

The car that John Denski brought to the first funny car reunion in 2002, turned out to be my dads car, the chassis anyway, long story, but it's verified!

We,ve documented all of this on classicfunnycar, draglist and nitromater, but now none of those threads exsist.

So, in the meantime, I started raising cash to buy it from John and had about $5,500.00 together, when a guy paid him $26,000.00 for it at the Detroit Autorama, in 2004. I went into a deep dark depression at that time, but have stayed in contact with the current owner and still have hopes of someday obtaining it form him............Perry Jr.

it amazes me to this day what one little zero can do to a guy's dream. I read a stat that the new national debt is 9 trillion !!! 30 grand for every man woman and child in the country!!Are you telling me the guy that has it now just runs it up and down on a hoist ?? :(

jeeez Perry, yea i guess i missed all that info.... i was off the net and out of the loop for a time...I lurk and read but have no funds.. I sold my vega in 1990 rolling for 3 grand with a new 23t body mounted and had to give the vega body away just to get it out of the yard !! things sure have changed since then...Ihad no emotional attatchment to the cars history but wanted to keep the house/shop in the divorce. thinking i'd do it again someday... oh well... still have the house/shop.... but hanging out with a slow bracket car team keeps me at the track.Such is life....

And Jim, a slow bracket car is better than NO car!!!
I hope you get a car of your own car again someday.
I hope to run in the 10s someday but don't think I will ever have the funds to go faster.

I hope I will never have to sell ThunderHorse, but if I have to....damn.

That really, Really, Blows, Perry.....Shame that things have worked out to thwart your dreams of once again owning that car.....at least it "seems" to be being taken care of and not just sitting under a tree somewhere with weeds and such growing up in it.

Have you tried to work a deal with the guy to "allow" you to run it but put his business name on there somewhere???.....just "might" be an option....(depending, of course, on funds availability to DO such a thing....)
