Hi Nancy. Carol was a highly competitive Top Alky funny car racer from the Division 1 area. She raced until the 90s. I got to see her run (and announce her, too) many times at Maryland International. Always one of the toughest cars in the place. She went back to the mid 70s with a MASSIVE full sized pure Chevy powered Camaro, then moved on to Vegas, T-Birds, etc. Super nice lady and tough, tough racer.

There's a picture of Carol and Bunny Burkett at the bottom of this funny car race coverage my brother Tim did at 75-80 raceway a few years ago. bp

Thanks so much for the info, I had no idea, never heard of her until the other night in the pic's. The car looked like an old fuel car though.

It's always good to have History of all drivers, especially some of the gals who have worked hard and earned their way. The ones (gals & guys) that have it bought for them, to me, don't quite have the same appeal, just a lot of money to through around, but not a lot of passion for the actual growth or longevity of this sport, so again thank you for sharing this. (btw, I don't put Morgan Lucas in that catagory, just as a disclaimer, he really is in it for the sport and contributes that way)

I hope I don't get bashed for my opinion. Sorry if I've offended anyone

Ya we have this deal going in here, it is pretty weird. We all respect each other and act like grown-ups dealing with each other,,,,shocking I know, but it really works just like your mom told you it would!
