Great question Lion!
Best ever, that's tuff, but probably the 1977 Popular Hot Rodding Meet at Martin. All the hitters there, racing at night! It's the night time racing that was always the hook, nitro at night is outa site!
Also, always loved the World Series and the Olympics at Union Grove.

One event that really sticks out in my mind is the U.S. Funny Car Nationals at Gateway in September, 2004.

I would have to say the 78 world series(I think that was the year)..Reason I say this is cause it was the very first time I got to see a nitro funnycar.I was only 5 years old or so but remember like it was yesterday. My dad took me around to all the drivers for pics and autographs. That was the day I found I had a hero in FC..My dad took me over to this trailer that was lettered with the Big "ARMY" logo on it. When I found out this guys name was "The Snake" I was hooked...

Here is a pic from that event..Sorry about the quality

Orange County in 77 will always be special to me. We set an NHRA record in my Altered, at the points meet. BP may have even been there. 8)
If it was the one where Shirley set the record at 253.52, I certainly WAS there... what a great event. Basically, national event quality in all fields. bp
BP It was a great event. Check her Record date. If it was May 6,1977, that's the one and we were there. 8)

any of the Smoker's march meets. I was only there in '67, but over 100 FED top fuelers for 64 spots. Went down hill with the red's.
