A few of you might know me, I'm John Dunn's crew chief. What a night, as you read and saw the pictures we blew the roof off. We were going to retire the body this year any way , but I hated to see her go out this way. We blew the windshield out last fall on a cold day at Bowling Green, and it cracked the roof in a couple of places, I had some concerns as to whether it would hold up. But really the story here is the time we ran, 6.03 @230 mph !!!!! Our pervious best was 6.32, quite a jump. I made a few changes in the clutch and John made a couple of changes in the fuel system and it responded pretty well. We ran the weekend with no engine damage, just routine maintenance. Looks like we are going to need to get busy getting the Nova body mounted for the Goodguys event in Indy June 9th.

A great event! I really enjoyed hanging out with Gary and seeing Pete, Rocky and AJ. I finally got my "Animal Jim" shirt!! The nitro cars put on a heckuva show. Dunn and Gone blew the roof off of the car in the final! I didn't see it but that's what the announcer said.
I'm sorry I missed ya Dennis!
