Spectators killed.

Postby Lippy » Sun Apr 16, 2006 7:17 pm

I was sorry to hear on the news earlier that in Turkey they held a dragrace and spectators were lined up along the track with no guardrail, one of the cars went out of control and killed three spectators. :(
If you think it's exciting now, wait till we start it.

I only saw a short deal on the news,,,,with the way the crowd was standing. I am amazed that you said only 3-people killed. I would have guessed 10 or more and twice that many hurt.

not very bright, if you ask me
I agree - the "human guardrail" scenario has claimed more than one life and not as far away as Turkey either. A similar incident 20+ years ago put an end to street racing in this area for a long long time. I'm sure a lot of you would recount similar experiences from where you live.
