Cordova Opening Day Postponed

OPENING DAY POSTPONED TIL
SUNDAY, APRIL 13th
Chassis Certification Still Scheduled for Saturday

Due to the likelihood of bad weather on this Saturday, April 12th, Opening Day and the Spring Warm-Up and Swap Meet will be postponed to Sunday, April 13th. "Saturday's forecast is miserable to say the least" said Scott Gardner. "Sunday looks like the best option with a forecast of 50 degrees and some sunshine" he mentioned.

NHRA Chassis Certifications will still take place on Saturday. The CDP maintenance building can be utilized should it be needed. If you need a chassis certification appointment, please call CDP at 309-654-2110. On Sunday, gates will open at 10 AM with time trials and fun runs underway at 12 Noon.

The weather isn't going to be nice here either. Low to mid 40's daytime, low 30's at night, PLUS maybe SNOW showers Saturday night.

Woke up to white covered grass, and was still snowing a little bit ago. Good call on putting it off.

Decided earlier today that we were not attending Sunday either since there is only a high of 40 with 15-25 mph winds. Gonna have to wait to start the race season until next weekend.

RACING ACTIVITIES CANCELLED

Warm-Up & Swap Meet Rescheduled for
Sat & Sun, April 19-20


Cold, windy and poor racing conditions has lead to the postponement of the Spring Warm-Up & Swap Meet from April 12-13 to Sat & Sun., April 19-20. “The long range forecast calls for temperatures to rise into the 60’s and 70’s” said Scott Gardner. “Providing a much better opportunity for traction as well as a general safety issue” continued Gardner.

Gates will open both Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20, at 11 AM with time runs underway at 12 Noon till 5 PM each day. The Swap Meet will also take place both days. Spectator admission for each day is $8. Test-n-tune is $20 per day and a Swap Space is $15 (including one admission) per day or $25 for the weekend.

took the car out saturday to get tagged......40 degrees and it didn't snow but it sleeted!!.......they used the maint shed to tag cars.but they did mune out side since it was a re tag and he didn't have to spend too much time on it........was gonna start it and drive it up there but it was too cold ran the battery dead and she tried but didn't wanna go so i gave up and we pushed it..........anyway the track is looking good the new walls are NICE, they also are gonna black top the area behind the pit cafe and they put up more lights in the pits!!.one nice big one right where we pit normally.......I may go out next weekend to watch then the weekend after to make sure my crap is right for the may 3rd rt 66 race.......ERIK
